Medics on limited lives servers

Why is it so hard for people to play medics on these type servers? I mean kids, THIS is your gametype. With so many opportunities to be the big hero and save your entire team and not to mention super fast maxing of your Medic exp! So why is it that I have to beg and plead for at least one other person to spawn as medic? I mean, if noones going to revive me then I have to conserve each life and maybe not make that mad dash across the field to adrenaline the two soldiers who are in the path of the machine gun. I see a lot play as cov ops which boggles me because that means you are going behind enemy lines with no way to get revived if you die. shrug Just doesn’t make sense to me.

I have yet to play on a OLTL server on ET, but i am shocked if no-one is going medic because medics are the key to these servers.

And then there are some people who say the medic is overpowered… Anyway, this problem occurs on all servers. Medics are pretty rare.
Makes no sense really, because if you have enough ammo, you’re really powerfull. Fortunately, you can be quite sure that the other team is also short on medics.

Since I play nothing but medic 99% of the time, you guys should drop in on my server :stuck_out_tongue: Seriously though, there are a lot of scared medics out there - I don’t know about them, but as a medic my first priority is to revive people. I don’t run over fallen teamsters shooting at the enemy, I don’t back away from someone waiting for a revive because oooh there might be an enemy nearby (help!), or just ignore people calling for medics, but spectating others while dead, I see that happening a lot. Not just in ET but in regular RTCW as well.

Maybe it’s time to start that all-medic clan I’ve been dreaming about

Well maybe people shy away from the medics machinegun because it is the “base” weapon, but its damned accurate and doesn’t overhead like the sten, you can mow people down with ease if you have any aim at all. I really only ever have trouble fighting other medics if they are quick with tossing themselves health packs, anyone else I can dodge enough and drop enough packs to survive whatever they throw at me.

As for reviving people, I’ll pretty much go to any lengths to revive a person unless an air strike is coming in, since the recovery time for revive probably will be too long to get out of the way in time. Maybe they don’t realize once you hit level 4 you can adrenaline yourself and get a good 10 seconds of infinite run and half damage taken which will let you survive direct panzer/grenades and even airstrikes at times (will just bounce you across the map with almost no life). Also at level 3 you give full health revives which means all you have to do is take half a second to needle the guy who just got shot and you have a full health buddy to help take out whatevers around.

The best thing I ever did was pair up with a field ops and feed each other health and ammo while we took on pretty much everyone by the bridge, we probably killed at least 15 people before they swarmed me en masse.

Saint, I played with you about two nights ago (cant remember the server) and you and another medic won that game for us. I commented at the end of the game that I had never seen a better medic (or pair of medics in fact) than you guys. I would never tap out with you nearby, knowing the great lengths you go to for a revive. Its games like those that make it all worthwhile. One thing I would really hate you for though …

playing on the other team !!! :frowning:
