Massive Cheating (on PC servers)

Aimbotters dont strafe better btw…you cant strafe better…good players can aim while strafing fine they dont have to “worry” about it either, the reason aimbotters dont strafe well is because they are snapping around the map, you cant move well when your 180’ing every other second
More nonsense. Clearly you are spouting damage control and either haven’t watched all the many youtube videos, or you have watched them and simply refusing the acknowledge the truth.

(Apoc) #62

DRC stop trolling, your the one with no proof, im here having expericence hackusations and talking to many comp players who have also, showing how often people like you are wrong. And all you have is some youtube vids of some aimbotters, who clearly dont make up more than 0.5% of players around, probably less.

Im not saying there arent any, im saying your calling hack on anyone with decent aim just because you cant understand how someone is killing you

(legend123) #63

I have 100 hours (Canada/US) and have seen maybe 1 cheater…

Anyways its a myth that aimbotters are all noobs and dont strafe. Its just a weak generalization.

The fact is there are some that stand there and hack you off
or some people who have experience from games and use the aimbot while strafing.
I mean its not hard to strafe…

I was just saying its an indication of a hack. when someone with outstanding aim isnt moving, or has very poor positioning/movement, it doesnt match up to their insane aim, and is therefor suspicious.

(Sabayon) #65

What would “pretty much” solve this whole problem would be first person point of view spectating.

(Apoc) #66

yup…whats the point of 3rd person anyway?

(Verticae) #67

I’m still highly amused by how the aimbot snaps to the chest. Silly weapon spread.

(Litego) #68

I’ve come across one guy I suspected of aimbotting. So I checked up online if aimbots have come to BRINK, and sure enough, they had. But yeah, only 1 guy so far. And its not harder then to change server.

(legend123) #69

oh okay. ya that sounds right.

(riptide) #70

Yea most of those kills are significantly slower than a good player who gets a couple headshots a kill.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the decent aimers around beat botters without even realizing it. I mean consistently they will lose because the biggest difference is how quick they acquire their target after a kill. But long as there isn’t a norecoil/spread hack in play, a person with good reflexes and aim will probably outshoot a hacker.

(FireWorks) #71

I think he meant it in a different way. The spread is so large that the bot is not aiming at the head because it does more damage when aiming for the chest… and i got the same feeling, I dont aim for the head anymore…

(TeoH) #72

What a silly thread.

The aimbots have no control over the server side random spread of bullets from SMGs, that’s why you see them all coded to aim for the chest. That also means an aimbot accounts for zero difference in the speed at which someone can kill you from mid range with unscoped SMGs, because keeping the gigantic fire hose cone of fire that all the SMGs have over a target is completely trivial. Read that and understand it, there is no difference between an aimbot with a carb-9 at mid range keeping its cone on a target, and a human player with entry level FPS skills doing the same.

Any time you die extremely quickly from across the room to a guy with an SMG and think ‘wow that was really fast, he must be an aimbot’, you need to slap yourself and think about that. The damage of SMG bullets is high, the cone of fire is gigantic, landing a series of headshots in quick succession to kill someone immediately is a question of pure RNG, and the same RNG applies to everyone aimbot or otherwise. This is why spotting someone with an aimbot in Brink is extremely difficult - because with most of the weapons it barely even makes a difference.

If you see someone exclusively using sniper rifles or high accuracy scoped weapons and rapidly headshotting multiple people as soon as they appear around corners, consistantly for a whole map, then you can start thinking about the use of aimbots. Otherwise you’re just looking for excuses after dying to someone’s lucky bullet spread.

I’m more annoyed by some people over-warping and having a few no-reg on them than so called “overwhelming hackers all around”, tbh.

(Kurushi) #75

200+ hours and yet to meet a definite hacker on the PC version, just good players.

I have noticed certain players twitch (lean spam maybe?) and others not take damage for some reason (and I’m not just imagining it) Don’t get me wrong I’ve NEVER seen bad hit detection in this game but certain players clearly don’t give out damage indicators at point blank range (maybe I’m missing something?)

(Kalbuth) #76

Yup, that’s what I call no-reg, and I think it’s due to either player connection or server. I don’t know. Sometimes, players warp badly (or appear in a corridor in front of me out of nowhere), and these are the ones that usually no-reg the most (probably because they are not where my PC draw them, or smtg laggy along these lines). I don’t have a good connection myself either, also, that may make the matter worse for me.
It happens for people I know and trust, sometimes too, so I’m not going on hackusation a lot :stuck_out_tongue: Just complain on them about insane warpers they are (they’ll recognize themselves, hmmmm, Singh? :stuck_out_tongue: )

The only troll here sir is you. You like to say that anyone who sheds light on all the hacks, is wrong and simply doesn’t know how to play. It is you who are insulting people’s playing ability because they are telling the truth about the hacking.

A truth you want to avoid so you try to deny it with lame claims that anyone who calls out “hack” just can’t play.

I am regularly #1 on the leader board of any game I play. I know the difference between a hacker and a good player.

And with all the many, many videos on youtube, you want to talk about proof?

Your arguments are hollow.

See the problem here, is I am actually on your side. I understand why you are saying the things you are. I understand that you want them to be true. And I understand why you want them to e true. I understand that you don’t want people shedding light on the hacking issues stopping people from buying and playing the game.

The problem is that denying only makes it worse.

There is a problem and people simply want to know what is going to be done about it. Not lame replies saying “hacking doesn’t exist you suck”.

Reminds me of the guy who kept saying the US army was lost in the desert and would never reach Baghdad. No one buys the illusion pal.

(Kalbuth) #78

It’s not 1/10th as bad as you depict it
Youtube vids promoting hack doesn’t proof anything.
There’s hack in any game. Any game. There’s always been, there’ll always be. Nothing terrible, tbh, and currently not plaguing Brink like you make it appear
Anyone that says hacks don’t exist is an idiot, the debate however it about the extent of hacking in Brink.

IMO there’s no real practical problem here because there are so few (32 hours in, still haven’t seen 1, for example). On the very rare chance you do happen to come across a real hacker (as opposed to someone who’s just better than you) there are loads of other servers out there to play on.

(Apoc) #80

Your being ridiculous…im out…no point arguing with an idiot, wasting my time
