Over the weekend there has been a huge increase in aimbots. All SMG players that take you from 100% health to 0% without missing a shot. It’s pretty obvious and I’ve run into them on as many as 50% of the more crowded servers in the game. Some of the most obvious players you can see their toon violently jerk around as they autoaim. Is there any anti-cheat for this game??? I think everyone has seen threads advertising/mentioning the website selling hacks. *****. All you have to do is google brink and hack and it’s the first search return. This is a joke how many cheaters there are already. People who pay $50 expect to have at least some semblance of a level playing field when playing online. Too bad the devs are too busy fixing the rushed/broken bits and obviously don’t have enough resources to address the cheaters. Waste. Of. Money.
Massive Cheating (on PC servers)
Well as VAC delay bans when the hack is release there’ll be a large number of people using it about but come a week later they should have all been banned, providing VAC detects it in the first place.
I noticed this straight away when going from my 360 to my PC. No one else on these servers seemed to complain but its amazingly obvious.
i was under the assumption that the cheating part was handledby a third party, not SD? leaving SD to work on the game itself. Am I wrong?
Saw my first modder on Xbox today also.
Point blank with the Gotlung and unloaded about 40 bullets in his chest and face. He doesn’t even lose a tick of health, turns and 2 shots me with his Carb-9.

I´ve played brink everyday since it came out, and yes you now find good players, but i never found someone that had aimbot, or no one that I couldn´t kill l : p
I hear sometimes people sayng cheater randomly to me even to my brother lol, and yes at close distance isn´t hard miss the target : P
But i guess somone out there does use it, but i never encountered one.
i dont believe there are cheaters in brink. why? for what purpose? only 15 servers of 1014 are filled with real players and no stats page yet.
pc servers are full of pro gamers, brink was suppose to be the next big team game to run leagues on for a few seasons
i dont believe anyone is hacking, but glitching…what the fuk is with invisible people.
Cheaters should be caught by VAC and banned from Steam automatically, unfortunately it is not up to SD. As for consoles, the best you can do is report them I believe.
Somebody posted a video yesterday of an aimbot/wallhack mod for Brink.
60hrs plus in the game and haven’t seen a single aimbot. I have seen bad players calling other players hackers but no hackers yet. Hell I had a guy call me a hacker. I also have seen top FPS players in servers I was pugging on also every night, by top players I mean people who play in tourneys like l4s, f8, ect and well know in e-sports for games like CS and Quake live.
Mainly invisable people and one aimbotter so far. I find the invisable bug or whatever worse than any aimbot, but i won’t be playing brink until they fix the game and i can run a constant 120fps.
I’ve had my suspicions of aimbotters, and there were one or two that did seem to land every single SMG hit from a distance where the weapon spread should have made that impossible. More to the point, those particular players always seemed to take me down with headshots.
I’m finding random run and gun one-shot-headshots to have really risen since around Thursday or Friday. Considering some of the lingering lag issues this should be hard to pull of consistently no matter how good you are with sniping from the hip.
But it’s hard to tell with some of the other instances, and thankfully it isn’t as obvious and out of control as Crysis 2 (one dude was twitching while pointing the other direction AND around the corner of a wall while managing to take me down, worst killcam-hack-reveal I have seen in a shooter to date. it’s hard to find people that AREN’T hacking in that game at the moment).
I’ve also encountered some people that took zero damage while I emptied a shotgun, smg or one of the heavy machine guns into them… and the shotgun/heavy instances were with a soldier buffed with armour piercing rounds. They didn’t have adrenaline either because the bottom line is that build up of damage should have killed them eventually, and they ran on. One time I was absolutely certain that person was hacking, and another I was fairly certain it was a horrible lag spike
The ping for players really needs to be represented by a numeric value for the PC version, not this console-centric colour meter for starters. Some hacks do have a tendency to spike a player’s ping, and it would help to determine if they really are a local. That narrows down the lag excuse. Right now we don’t know exactly what the ping range is that is acceptable for a full green bar, or what about the orange or red values?
Not to mention they are always full green except for turning red/orange for a second and then back to green.

12 hours.
Met one obvious aimbotter, who kept rushing our spawn to land 3 kills with one clip of SMG (all headshots).
Another one not that obvious : long range, instantly hitting anyone peeking out of a corner using the lean or slide feature - we were 5 and couldn’t move forward.
I don’t think I saw a wallhacker (since the radar + sound radar is already helping through-walls localization).
I wonder why the developers don’t add a “sup-admin” slot to the game, then the publisher hire a 24/7 team, checking all games and banning cheaters. 3 months is enough to catch most of the cheats-kiddies.
edit : hey, 1 cheater and 1 potential cheater in 12 hours is NOTHING => for 11h30 I had super cool fun, for 30 minutes I had to wait for the cheaters to leave.
