Hi guy’s n guy’ettes like every1 else round here I’v been reading all about ET:QW. When i first read about The new MegaTexture technology it was like a nicotine hit too me. Basically my ears popped up. I think it could have been the mega possibly the new but ultimately it’s the idea of large outdoor terrain that pulled me in (SD accountant rolls hands muhaha). But what I’d like to know is how does this game feel like when i’m immersed inside an ET:QW environment. When the MCV or whatever it’ll be finally called, is deployed, how will i think, what is my priority; XP, the next target, my comrades (yeah right!)…(hang on a sec my comrades might rescue me when i’m 4km into the next goal and save me gettin a bus back) or do i think i’m the lone wolf who’s deep, deep undercover after possessing a body and going on a camping trip round the map, and taking out any stray newbs i can find and roasting thier head on a fire and wearing thier teeth as a necklace!
We can all have views on what it could be like, but we dont know until we’ve experianced it. Which brings me too my point. Ahem I’v noticed that SD kindlly invited some jounalists too look at the game, and then very kindly invited representatives of some related sites. What i’m suggesting is that SD could invite some map makers to SD and try the game out for themselves so they can really understand how the game feels and so better understand how to design a map for it.
I have no idea how the gameplay is going to work, there’s a hint of C&C generals: radar pickin up troop movements, mcv which changes your own prioritys in the game depending on its status, and I’v never really got into BF2 past watching a plane take out 20 people lined up on a beach. But ultimately i’m guessing so theres only 1 way to find out and thats play it. I think it could help the future ET:QW community which i think could be huge.
And BTW my tongue is firmly n squarly in my cheek! unless SD agrees! take care…
