Malicious Server redirect!!

today i try to play ET and i cant use the server list because someone is manipulating it, it forces me to play in one server with this IP 95.211.156.15:27960.

I try cleanup my etmain and delete my mod folders and it still point me to this retard server at Netherland, can someone from SD please block this IP from server list because right now its impossible to play in other server using the server list.

why the hell have retards like that who force player to play in their server, they really think this will attract more players?? Right now i prefeer stop play ET instead play in this retard server.

Tried reinstall game or reset cfg cvars?

Reinstalling the game or resetting your configuration won’t help. This is a client side exploit which we fixed in ET: Legacy some time ago. Blacklisting these hacker’s from the master server is not a solution as we can see right now. They just keep doing it again and again.

For i can get ride of these kind of servers using splatterladder to get a list of servers and connect direct on them but the problem is not related to me, my worry is how we could get new players who dont know anything about this game to get a serverlist to play??

They will try it for few times and if they dont like this server they will just stop playing this game!!!

About the et legacy i really like what you guys are doing Radegast but like me, who only play etpro, it has no solution, i saw a server few months ago running et legacy with etpro on it, but i saw this server up one day only and never saw any other server with etpro on it anymore. You guys have fixed the compatibility of et legacy with it or not?

Unfortunately not. ETPro is not and will never be compatible with ET: Legacy client, but at least people can run ET:L server with etpro as you saw.

I realise ETPro is a unique mod in the enemy territory scene and there are people who are not interested in playing any other mod. However, it is unmaintained and has been for several years. That is why we work on our own Legacy mod which aims to be like ETpro, but updated to work flawlessly with ET:L clients and servers.

I’m having the same scenario. I have my own server and I can’t even get on it from another computer unless I’m going through my LAN. Distant friends can’t reach my server, either.

I wouldn’t say the legacy mod aims to be like ETPro. But we can’t hide the fact ETPro did set standards for ET. :slight_smile:

The interesting aspect on the legacy mod code is to have ET(: L) installed by some clicks and you are ready to run a decent listen server.

Point is to stop that redirect prob, when the ET:L integrated mod will be “finished” (WIP atm I guess :slight_smile: ), there could be less behaviors like this… If people/newbies move on ET:L, and why not comps.

Can’t really say, but it will take some time before we will be able to compete with ETPro. Any modders interested in making that happen are welcome to join us!

For now we release Legacy mod simultaneously with client and server binaries. The latest release is from yesterday.
