How do i go about making ppl d/l my mine pak i made ?.
I have it in ftp and http but dont know the command to make the general public d/l it.
I have given it to clan members by way of sending it to them and they can see it when playing ET on our server but i would like everyone to be able to use it when on our server.
Any ideas on how i can achieve this as i havent got a clue :???: .
Any help would be much appreciated look forward to some useful replys.

exactly… why would we help you force us to d/l something? seems pretty dumb to me, the least u could have done is posted whats in it and so on to see if anyone will put it on their clan servers…

If you are running a mod, put it in the mod directory, instead of etmain (e.g. etpro if you are running etpro)
If you are running etmain, putting a .campaign file in the mine pack will force it to be downloaded.
That said, I agree with the others who aren’t too fond of getting some random cosmetic change with every server they connect to*. Leaving it optional may be a better idea.
*except the dancing daisy mine skins… those rock! :moo:

There are certain files that the server does not force the clients to download. If you want to force a download then you have to use a “trick,” such as putting your files in the same file as a required files (such as a campaign file).
Like the other people alluded to, you might end up with an empty server since gamers tend to hate downloading files upon connecting to a server, specially if they do not recognize the filename being downloaded (ie, a 10 MB download of mlb_temple.pk3 might be tolerated while a 10 MB download of cool_skins.pk3 might be aborted to move on to another server).
Anyway, that’s one way to force file downloads.

As you will never come to my server commando and death you will not have to d/l my mine pak so why make pointless posts i asked for usefull posts not useless lol get a life boys.
What do you mean “the least u could have done is posted whats in it” didnt i say it was a mine pak ? sheesh some ppl .
As for other clans using it i made it for my clan server only, why would i want to share it with people like you ?.
If ppl come onto my server and d/l it then they will have to redo it so it is pointless posting it for all clans to see, it will be no good to them.
On a nicer note Thankyou for your usefull input reyalP its nice to know not everyone is an arsehole in ET or forums.

The actual file size is only 48.5 kb this is why i have thought about putting it in as a d/l i also have a skins pak i made but thought i would only let clan members d/l that i can appreciate what ppl are saying but no1 will really mind the d/l as it will take most prob less than a second.

wow monkey, telling people you wanted help from, to get a life, wow… you need to grow up, then worry about getting a life yourself.
Also i may not visit your server but i hate having to go through my wolf deleting peoples stupid landmine packs that they think are funny or advertising, so you have to think of the others playing there. also in your post you said “the general public” so that parts your fault.
then u poked fun of my clan, which u know nothing about, and u said it was made for your clan only, which u never said b4 in the original post, then u called everyone who didnt help u “arsehole’s”
thats not really the way to talk on here, you came looking for help, for by what you described in your original post was something that people didnt care for, we gave our opinions and you make fun of people because they never helped you. thats the way to go to get future help from people.

Yes i did want help but you didnt give help you just started of on some rant saying why should we help you well thats what i thought these posts and forums were for help not to slag people of.
I asked a simple question to which some decent people responded to unlike you.
As for stupid landmine packs the one i did is more visible and nicer looking than the standard one you get in the pak 0 folder so dont go calling things stupid when you havent even seen the end product.
I havent called everyone arseholes just you and death for your pointless and useless input, why did you post you had nothing of use to say so why even bother ? I asked for help not criticism.
As for having to delete my mine pack from et main how long does it take you to get to your et main and delete stuff lol it takes seconds or have you got like 500 pk3 files in there.
Ill give you a bit of advice maybe you should go to view and change it to list then maybe you could go through your et main a bit faster.
I will get help from people in the future as i always do because i ask nicely but if you can please dont bother trying to answer any of my posts because it seems you have nothing constructive to say do you ?.
I only bite back at people who say stupid things get the point!.

your really stubborn, me and death wondered why wouldnt want us to help you force us to d/l somehting. and based on the info u provided we posted, if u had of said it was for clan use(as not all minepacks are) and no other then it would have been a different story.You also said the general public, so that would include us. You should realize its a free world my small minded friend, people will ask questions about what they want and say what they want, we both interpretted your post in the way that mad you come accross as someone trying to get help in making us get a file from u, which is stupid. sorry if what we said upset you, but u should have been more clear in your post.

the subject line of your post said “Making ppl force download my mine marker pk3”, most people as stated don’t appreciate being forced to download some random piece of crap clan advertising, or “cool” skinpack or “uber leet” custom chat sounds, it’s a pain to have to go through your etmain folder and manually delete all those pk3’s no matter how small. Just a guess, but I think it was your choice of words that got you flamed, a less arrogant approach might have worked better.
