I am watching the whole scene of ET and there is not much teams not saying about LAN parties which are very very very rarely.
Maybe we should make an action to advertise ET? Only community teamwork would make ET more popular.
Now we have a lot of Counter Strike forums/communities/teams, this is very slow game without dynamic, but they don’t know almost anything about Enemy Territory.
We should have a mod to make them easier join our communities… etpro is hard to start with so maybe a funmod with gametype nearly close to the round fight in CS.
Please everyone to write here your opinions and ideas.
Making ET more popular
www.crossfire.nu ,lets say,its ETpro community someway.
TLR LAN is coming, there were just 2 LANS
Btw almost all CS players think that all ET players cheat:d
Btw when ETpro is hard? 6 years here of that.
Not so hard, only low pubs kicks you for wallhacking even SLAC is on
The only thing what can really keep this game alive is maps and mods. I would greatly appreciate original maps and mods.
Random mod idea: carnival mod with special playerskins, a flying kirby as rocket missile (this was always my dream to have this), + special random abilites like throwing confetti. … i would play it :d
We should keep support mappers with doing custom but very playable maps.
+1
throwing confetti would kill FPS - but I wouldn’t care for a dime , 't is good fun

Yeah lol ^^
Sadly it’s what is killing this game, there are too many maps and mods and even more mods modding maps and other mods then mods modding them mods of mods of mods.
MODS!
How SLAC annoys peoples?
Almost 15000 users already in ET.
384 cheaters busted.
Its way better than Punkbuster.
SLAC maker is Chalpje,ETh32 maker, some cheats maker, but he made good anitcheat, screenshot system, fast OS scan. No lag.

Yeah bla. How about we remove Jaymod, ETPro, NoQuarter etc etc from the game, all maps, and just play with 6 stock maps all day long. Have fun master Chris
I bet you did not play ET for years …
Also can you please explain to me how making items for a game is beeing able to “kill” a game ? I mean we are not talking about trashpacks like mod menus, connect screens, are we ? O-o
[edit] hm … but just in case your are talking about ‘special kinds of people’, rippers, immature kids thinking they are smart because they mod the game coding wise, go through all mods of all times and steal items from it, because they have lack of creativity, troll modders trolling official mods, mappers decompiling and ripping the **** out of other items etc etc, then yeah. If you mean that, i can understand your point. It is just not well ‘delivered’ then. Also there is a difference between developing point of view and consumer point of view i would state.

i agree
we still need new maps but not too big pk3 for the dl cuz the players hate that …
and a lot are waiting for NQ 130 :d
I played ET since the fueldump test release, made about 10 maps for the game, both for the base game and for the domination mod and played in a few clans…
Yes, I am talking about ‘trashpacks’ they are the main reason I don’t play this game any more. Custom content was both welcome and needed in the early days, now it’s just ridiculous. With no real method of filtering out servers with texture packs and custom sounds and stuff the problem is just going to get worse.
You are so gonna hate the news I’m working on a application for people to create their own soundpacks.
The problem arises when people start doing packs that overwrite stock assets such as sounds, textures and models, these packs can really screw with your installation, especially them menu mods. Server admins can really be irresponsible in this game, it tends to be mainly these ‘fun’ clan servers that really over do it. Idtech4 for all it’s faults at least went some way to rectify this problem but sadly in doing so created another problem (Restarting the engine every map).
Anyway, it all makes it really hard to find a server running ‘normal’ ET.
pk3 files what are under 10mb,they are normal.
No reason to whine.
But thing what annoys me that you must download 9999999999999999 files.
Tip for .pk3 makers, make only ONE file. Not million .pk3,then after watching demos I can see eggs, but must be granades,or see bunnies of medics.
Download speeds are improved these days
Nice maps demand some high storage space
In a way, it’s sad a mapper must constantly look if he’s not passing the 10 MB barrier
That’s just plain cheap - if you want quality, suck it down, it’s just a single download. Haz some koekjes while you’re downloading
If you don’t mind messing up your ET installation with a billion custom pk3’s, then a nice map from around 20 MBs shouldn’t be any issue
Nothing personal, macbeth, because I know there are indeed a lot of players out there thinking that way
But I just think that’s sad and a pity
I never got why people don’t download the bigger sized pk3s, it’s 2011 now, not 2001.
If custom content is the blame then I believe that the massive amount of ripped content that came out in the years 2009 and 2010 was a big hit to the game overall reputation. It was slowly turning the game into another wannabe and people began to notice it.
That was also one of the reasons why less and less people were interested in making new custom content to the game. Same thing happened to me. Why bother to work on a game if it will be another game that is compared to COD, SOF or CS.
In those two years ET became more of an advertisement for COD titles. Perhaps that’s why we lost many of our players. Something to think about there.
