Is there a way to just record 10-15 seconds from a demo and not the whole thing?
How can you leave a demo before the end, as the Escape key doesn’t work for me?

Well it’s been too long since i’ve fooled around with demo’s but i know you can always bring down the console and type in /quit to exit the demo…
does the recordavi command reset the demo and play it from the beginning?
if not, one might script some toggle to record a demo and stop recording.
what i really hate that you cannot rewind the demo… i would like to see SD
drop some demo editing tool, similar to common video editing tools… with
options to FWD, RWD, stop, record, crop(!!!) the demo files…
the crop option would be the most important. i have several demos which
i would like to rip the first part off since i dont want to keep it. even if i
could only convert some selected part of the demo file to avi, it is no fun
to search the demo for essential action every time. cropping the demo
would make archiving files a lot easier…
hope to see this one coming :moo:
Thanks for the replys, didn’t think of /quit
I can’t see any commands to rewind the demo either, anyone know of any or a link that explains more?
you cannot rewind… other commands are explained in the demo console
(toggle with backspace). but still no rewind. that’s baaaaaaaaaad…
very
Is there a way to get rid of the HUD on Demo mode? As what i do now is record the match then go through the demo later at 1/2 speed to get decent screenshots but get that big yellow box in lagometer
To toggle the lagometer:
/toggle cg_lagometer
To toggle the entire HUD:
/toggle cg_draw2d
You’ll have to enter the commands in the console every time unless someone finds out how to use binds during demo playback. :bored: At least up-arrow works if you want to repeat a previously entered command…
Edit: Hitting escape twice exits the demo (at least for me).
Yeah to get some nice purdy screenshots set up another cfg file you can run with all the eye candy on and without the HUD and other stuff…
