I tried to make this map but whenever I try to load it I get error messages telling me can’t find maps (mapname).bsp I can’t figure why it compiles fine and when i look in the maps directory it is there.
Making an ET map for First Timers
Before you type in: devmap <mapname>, be sure to add:
sv_pure 0 (allows using files outside of pk3’s)
g_gametype 2 (sets the gametype to 2: objective)
He couldn’t find it earlier, because it is not in a pk3. Adding sv_pure 0 will solve your problem.
Well, some people have multiple installations of ET, one for mapping, one for testing, one for playing. In which one is your bsp and which one are you launching to test it?
Make sure to have a red and blue spawn, a death match spawn, and make sure the mapcoords are = to each other, so -1092 2047 2947 -1973 wont work, you need them to be -1000 1000 -1000 1000.
EDIT: Three ET installs! I only have 2, one for playing and one for my work and to test them.
I only have one install of enemy territory so I am using the right one and I am sure that I have the coords correct but I am going to double check that now and I also have all the spawns. The map name is town.bsp
I made sure the mapcoords were equall it didn’t change any thing
when i change my map to a bsp thing it says error to many open files. any ideas what is wrong?
erm ok, welcome to mapping
.map files are the files gtkradiant uses, so if you save something there u will get “yourmap.map”
then the next step is to compile your map, then you will get “yourmap.bsp”, and this is the file ET uses
I advise you to go over these first:
