Make the weapon kits more useful

(azz_abdr) #1

So weapon kits are rare item from Arsenal Crate it drop either in 1 or 5, the requirements of it rather painful, like 45 for cobalt, really?
So I have a few suggestion to make it less useless:
Make it purchasable by using fragments, I suggest the price at 2000 fragments each. And change the requirements for crafting a cobalt from 45 to 20, silver and gold remain at 2 & 8.

I agree, another thing that Splash Damage should do for the crafting system is credits AND fragments when recycling. Here’s a good example:

Lead: 50 Credits PCR (PCR = Per Card Recycled)
Iron: 100 Credits PCR
Bronze: 250 Credits PCR
Silver: 1,000 Credits PCR
Gold: 5,000 Credits PCR
Cobalt: 15,000 Credits PCR

This is a more cheap-system, another one could work like this:

Lead: 100 Credits PCR
Iron: 250 Credits PCR
Bronze: 500 Credits PCR
Silver: 1,000 Credits PCR
Gold: 2,500 Credits PCR
Cobalt: 10,000 PCR

Honestly, this would allow people to craft more cards that they want, by recycling ones they don’t like and using those credits + fragments to craft some more. Any dev and get this in-game please!

@Steve_Harvey

You’re completely disregarding the fact that the Crafting system is made to be stingy so that players spend real money.

All of these copy-paste Credit drain events over the past few months, as well as the new Daily Reward system is all one big scheme to reduce Credit numbers and incentivise spending real money on crafting micro-transactions

What I find funny about this though is that they don’t offer a good way to earn credits by paying. You can buy credit boosters but they don’t help you that much in terms of getting what you want. If they were smart I would almost say adding credit bundles to the store would net them more money. Keep in mind I hate that idea and hope it’s never implemented, but you get my point.

Pretty much this. Unfortunately, for me, it does the opposite. It makes me want to quit the game because you can see their heading down the path of no return… Nexon, Aeria Games, nearly every “F2P” game out there. Personally, I’d be more inclined to purchase items for real cash, well more of them, if they were cheaper and the rewards were better. I mean, 10 Elite Cases + 2 Guaranteed Special Edition cases for $35? That’s ridiculous. It’s just RNG on top of RNG. No one wants that. It doesn’t even make me wanna gamble because the odds are so bad and a win doesn’t even feel like a win because the reward isn’t worth much.

Anyways, I feel like the whole system could definitely use a major revamp. We’ve been waiting over a year for a crafting system fix and haven’t received anything other than “crafting weeks.” We also need the old daily reward system back or at least a better one than what we have now… But I’m sensing the greed.

if they sold it on the store i would buy it so fast that my wallet will be dry as grass leaf in sahara

(Steve_Harvey) #7

@ImSploosh , I agree (yet again i like agreeing with people.) the devs really have a taste for cash, however, i can only assume giving credits back when recycling would lower profit from elite cases or something. Maybe SD can make special edition cards craftable during any said event so RNG isn’t your only hope. 25k maybe?

@hawkeyeguy99 , Credits are kind of stupid in general. I mean, whats so bad about having a currency? Maybe the fact that they are very hard to earn in large sums, Like sure, i can get 3 1,000 credit missions when i have a 1,500 credit daily bonus ready and complete them all for 4,500, but doing that about 10 times (NOT including credits earned from basic play) would only get me a merc like Nader.

@Melinder , that’s what devs do in any F2P game. Allowing more credits to be earned faster would possibly permit people to play more often (Not particularly, but i would for sure.). But that’s how things go, i guess.

Except you seem to be forgetting the fact you can’t purchase the weapon kits in any way? Not even with real money…they’re completely random drops from a special case.

So how do they make money on it?

They’re just driving people away from this system while not making any money.

(Teflon Love) #9

While I’m also not a fan of the whole RNG crap I can see its point from a psychological and business side. And I applaud to anyone who spends money on it and keeps the game alive. Thank you, guys!

What I do like is that the simplest way to get the cobalt you want is piling up credits and then trading them in during crafting week.

It encourages you to actually play the game and also teaches you patience.

no, don’t sell it with real money, it will make the game slightly p2w, but sell it with fragments, at least you have to buy cases with credits (eq) or with real money -> recycle cards -> buy weapon kits with fragments.

(neverplayseriou) #13

@azz_abdr it wouldn’t make it p2w at all…

(azz_abdr) #14

@neverplayseriou lol, why are you so quick? and are you just read the p2w parts? lol
what I mean is, if you can choose the primary weapon easily with money, where is the fun of grinding?
If you can just buy MOA Vaselin, I’m sure everyone with money will too, but free players will require more time to grind.

edit, okay. maybe I should call it “p2skip”, sorry

(watsyurdeal) #15

I don’t know about more useful, but rather making them drop more, they should be in regular cases you get from games, along with Crafting kits.

Maybe case drops should differ, Cases you buy in store differ from the ones you get as a drop in a game.

So we’d have say

Standard Cases - Contain cards, can buy from store
Supply Drops - Like regular cases, but contain a minimum of Iron, and Crafting and Weapon Kits, you get these exclusively as after game drops, and they replace Standard Case Drops
Merc Drop things (I can not find the name of these) - the ones you get from leveling up, I say keep these too, as an added incentive

(Ptiloui) #16

And why not make one of the weekly case a Supply Case as @watsyurdeal suggest ?

All of mine would go to Sparks (Muh 3–) Kira (Dreiss is OP) and Redeye (Grandeur is a meme) (Also Gen 1 G41 Terror clouds) cards…

(pumpkinmeerkat) #18

Cobalts aren’t worth the value SD is trying to force them to be IMO. It’s just a blue/silver or black speckled version of the default mesh.

Safe to assume the implementation of weapon kits was never completed and that there will be additional ways to get them at some point. Apparently SD had time to increase card costs but not enough time to provide us with an option to at least partially remove RNG

(SnakekillerX) #19

I’ve love to see SD’s tracked statistics on how many people have actually traded in 45 weapon kits to make a cobalt. I have a feeling the number is 0, or very close to it.

Wouldn’t it be funny If you saved up 45 kits and finally went to use them, just to find out the feature is bugged and won’t let you do it? Then you put in a bug report but it takes forever to get fixed… because it just doesn’t effect enough people to become priority.

(ThePigVomit) #20

2 years in…im sitting at 16 weapon kits.

In a moment of weakness I used one on either a Turtle or Jav card, but I’ve blocked that particular detail due to a probable rage inducing result.
