if you guys charge for dlc on a game that only has 700 players at a peak time then that will only make the game even worse
btw please fix the fps cap in sp so I can do those challenges

There’s not much issue with making a game worse if it doesn’t sell any more. Rather milk the current playerbase.
By “free” you mean “free for the first two weeks of release” of course…
I don’t see myself buying anything more for this game. It’s fun and I’ll be playing it while waiting for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Diablo III but I don’t see purchasing new maps, weapon attachments, abilities, and higher level caps for this game. Frankly, I doubt anyone else will either which potentially means there will be a bunch of people out there I won’t be able to play with or possibly servers I won’t be able to play on.
I really have no idea what effect DLCs have on multiplayer games but it seems to me that there is a real potential of segregating the online community.

But dlc does not work with games on PC, period.
No one plays the dlc maps on MW2 or Black ops, Crysis 2, Section 8.
People will just be discouraged from buying the game with paid dlc, but things like mod tools and free updates will make people buy the game for years (TF2).
Please work for free SD. You do not deserve any compensation for your work. I know I would go to work every day and put out my best effort if I couldn’t charge for my services.
With Fallout 3 I just waited for the Game of the Year edition and got the game plus $50 worth of DLCs for $30. If the DLCs for Brink really go somewhere, like 5+ DLCs come out and a majority of the community has them then maybe I’ll buy them in bulk when the price goes down. I’ve been a PC gamer for over two decades, I’m patient and I can wait a long time.

BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! WHINE WHINE!!!
does no one except free DLC??? does anyone take this into good graces
your right, we shouldnt have to pay for 5 years of work
TF2 too longer to make.
There’s a middle route that so many publishers are missing. A marginal demo, free forever, supplying the customers with cannon fodder while at the same time taking as long as it’s needed to convince potential buyers.
The Raven Shield was viable for years because many big clans were contend with the content and didn’t want to split up the play by moving to the full game. The scene stayed at the demo and it’s just a mistake to not keep these two groups together.
I wonder how they’re going to compete with TF2. TF2 is free to play now.
Probably not at all.
Well one thing they have over TF2 was that TF2 first twenty updates weren’t free for two weeks
My ps3 is still being repaired, its been months now! Hopefully my ps3 will be fixed in time for me to get it. Cause im not paying for it. Im missing so much with my ps3 in repair… i wonder if my repair guy is even fixing it…
Think about it, when the DLC is free for 2 weeks we see an immediate increase in players within a 2 week window.
If the DLC is always free then we get John Smith and his thousands of like minded people downloading it right away but then we also get Sally Jane and her thousands of like minded people downloading it 6 months from now and the community is still fragmented.
If you want to community to be stronger be happy with your free DLC and help spread the news that the DLC is free for 2 weeks.

THEY wanted to have free DLC- and lots of it- and Microsoft said no, thus gumming up the works for the poor console players- which make up a fair amount of the fanbase for this game.

Why does ps3 have to be screwed over as well if M$ wants to screw over their users? That is just unfair.
You’re getting a free DLC. They’re giving you a free DLC. What is the problem? Are you really this much of an asshole because you’re championing for nameless gamer’s rights to not have to pay $9.99?
