Majority rules! Or does it?

I don’t entirely understand the way the voting system works…

I would imagine if more than 50 percent of the people playing in a server voted YES for something… that it would pass. Are some things more weighted than others?

Just a quick example, we had a guy who was teamkilling everybody and it was a 16 person server… the vote was 12 in favor of booting him and 2 for no… yet somehow the vote failed! How is that possible? 12 votes is 75 percent of the server itself, and it didn’t pass?!

Either it’s a bug or a really TERRIBLE voting system.

I’ve also seen votes lose immediately. In less than 3 seconds I’ve seen them 5 - 2 (for example) and then immediately fail. This has only happened to me when we’ve continuously tried to vote a TK’er off with a majority vote everytime… I dunno… anybody else notice this crap? :???:

The percent needed for votes to pass is set by the server master.

like this: set vote_percent “75”

Well that’s kind of retarted of whomever set it to over 75 percent. What’s the point in having votes anyways? Since half the time only half the people even hit F1 or F2… bah.

Well thanks for clearing that up anyways.

The reason for having a high vote % is that thier are so many noobs out there that when a kick vote comes up and the majority on the ppl on the server press f1 without even knowing who they are kicking and if its a valid kick.
