Making a version of MG for ET is a subject which keeps cropping up at SD - there’s a few of us who’d like to make it.
We have two problems - the first is that we made MG for Games Domain for their gaming service, so if we were to make another version it probably couldn’t be called Market Garden, and would have to be only loosely based on it.
The second is that we’re really busy with the multiplayer maps for Doom 3 right now, amongst other things, so nobody really has time to do it.
thats understandable. but how bout handing over the code to a custom mapper like riverstyx or someone to remake and you can just keep track of their progress and review it when theyre done. and i thought games domain went out of business anyway. would there be anyone to put up a fuss about it?
Another question:
IF Market garden were to be ported to ET, since SD made it, would it be released as an official ET map? Or would it just be treated as another custom that just happens to be made by SD?
Its a level ive never really played, due to never really playing Wolfy after the first few months but it does crop up a lot , and since im a huge fan of SD stuff maybe i should try it on RTCW - what other maps did SD do for RTCW?
No clue, sorry - it’s the principle of the thing more than any legal implications.
We can’t really hand over the source .map for the same reason - even though GD doesn’t exist, and nobody at their parent company British Telecom would have the slightest idea we’d done it.
We made Tram, Dam and Rocket for Activision, and another map for Games Domain which was never released, called Eagle’s Nest (I think someone else may have made a map called Eagle’s Nest since… not sure).
I hate large dual obj maps like Depot and MG unless I just want some mindless fragging. (That said I have played both of them quite a bit.)
On large servers it’s impossible to win if the other team’s defense knows what they’re doing, and on small servers it’s a matter of getting to the other side first. MG could be made into two nice single objective ET maps though, just remove one of the objectives from each and adjust spawns. 
Not a fan of MG myself but I think that’s part of the success about that map, the games go on and on for ever and instead of 1 on 1 fights it’s more like 10 on 10 constantly. Personally I consider that map mindless fragging, but what do I know… only played it 10 times or something.
