Lvl requirement for competitive is too god damn high

Imagine a situation where you, for some reason, advertise this game to your friends and the game forces them to get 180k xp from lvl 6 to 7 alone + all the xp needed for the previous ranks. For a player who would like to play competitive and try it out that way, with friends, it means hours upon hours of tedious public farming for no apparent reason.

At least you could make it so that players who get INVITED to a team, could play competitive regardless of their lvl and lower the lvl cap back to 5 for the search. Current cap serves no one. If you are dumb as fuck and cant do shit like shoot and move at the same time, you wont be more useful on lvl 7 than on lvl 5 anyway, but if you have played tf2/et/anything that has something to do with shooting, on a competitive level, you propably don’t want to spend ANY time on public servers.

It’s like putting someone to a retard class in school for two weeks, just because you want to change school.

Even if you have decent aim from other games, you still have a lot of tactics and tricks to learn from mercs. This game is 100% teamwork, to the point where you never could have thought a game could have this much teamwork and diversity of merc with their loadouts. If you look at founder’s play competitively, you’re going to be awed at how strategic they play, unlike any other game.

And as @BanHammer said, I honestly think the minimum level requirement should be like level 10 or something.

If your friends are such fps gods, it shouldn’t take long to get to lvl 7.
btw. csgo also has a level requirement for competitive matchmaking.

How is level 10 “too god damn high”? And honestly, you shouldn’t be “farming” your way to level 10. Comp mode is no joke. You will get your ass stomped if you haven’t learned how to counter/avoid all merc abilities and weapons.

I believe one of the reasons why you can’t play until level 7 is to reduce amount of hackers in the MM. It was 5 before but they made it 7

Competitive (or Ranked as it’s now called) is not to be taken lightly. I’m a level 21 with 230 hours of in-game play, and I get my ass handed to me in comp. Then again, it’s usually me and a bunch of other Silver / Bronze / Unranked vs Gold+ xD

Save comp for when you and all your friends know all the maps, all the merc abilities, and can hand out ammo/health packs

In a full group I do think you should be able to invite level 1s and play comp with them. Otherwise, no.

One reason why you wouldn’t want that is players could then invite boosters who are cheating to carry them which is one of the reasons why it’s level 7 before you can play matchmaking.

Level 5 can take as little as two Stopwatch games to hit. Level 7 only takes a few hours and you’ll probably have played all the maps by then.

I’d rather have it as level 10 than level 7. By then you’ll be actually ready to play comp (maybe) and you’ll have a better understanding of how people’s minds can change from playing in pubs to playing to comp. Plus you can play on min level 10 servers, so you’ll be able to learn alot better there rather than in normal servers, so you’ll be ever more prepared for a comp match.

Perhaps an extra credit bonus for anyone solo-queueing would be a good incentive ? I’d say guaranteed normal case per match but that won’t be fair too much to anyone queue-ing with friends.

lvl 7 is really low … still i could see ppl in comp getting 5/21 kill death ratio with powerful merc … you got familiar with the merc but so many players are still in learning the game … so lvl 7 is okay but lvl 10 would be good for serious comp matches !!

You can reach lvl5 without even playing once on all the maps. Thats not possible with lvl7. (Unless you only play Execution etc.)

I reached level 7 in three days, THREE DAYS.

In fact, the requirement is too low. Should be 10 or even 15.
