LulzSec set sights on Brink?

(Krallis) #101

I really dont get this group.
They appear to just be hacking anything and everything.

I mean, at least Anonymous had morals and appeared to stand for something. Which is far more than can apparently be said for this group. I dont understand them.

(Lydia) #102

Some people are just plain mean and corrupted . Maybe they want money , maybe they´re doing it for fun . And maybe , they are just want to bluff . Let´s hope they just made a really , really bad joke . But what they really want … well i don´t know , but i know , if someone will ever get them , they really should pray for mercy . Because what they are doing is just sad . Really really sad .

(Jess Alon) #103

They are a bunch of authority hating “revolutionaries”.

Probably anarchists too.

I don’t know how they expect to gain credibility when they view life through such a narrow scope.

One guy is corrupt in an organization so that makes the whole thing corrupt.

Also they should probably be careful because if any political organization is declaring your actions against them an act of war then they may very well end up dead in a ditch somewhere.

(Lydia) #104

i /sign your post Jess . True , too true .

(tokamak) #105
It does, it means there’s no supervising in that area. One corrupt individual ruins the integrity of the entire institute.

(Slade05) #106

Yup, group is defined by its worst member.

That whole cyberwar thing is different, though, as it is pushed solely in the interest of US defense contractors. War, lol, when they can`t attribute an attack.

(Lydia) #107

At least those hackers get what they deserve .
Couldn´t they use their knowledge for he sake of good ?! I mean like : We hack you and tell you where your weakpoints are . Exercises us and helps you to keep your guard up .

 1. Without public release of “proof”, hacker claims have zero credibility
 2. Company X would rather keep the security holes secret and fix them quietly
 3. A public humiliation and exposure of flaws forces Company X to fix the problems “properly and fully” (which will probably include other, hidden flaws that would otherwise stay hidden - point 2)

Note that I’m not condoning what these people do (even though some of it is justified, i.e. Anonymous) - I’m just explaining their behaviour post-hack

“We were going to keep this little treasure chest to ourselves, but it appears the hand has been bitten. Say your prayers, Brink users. >:]”

Thoughts?
FFS why can’t these hackers just go away like seriously all they do is ruin online gaming everytime. I seriously would love to kick there heads in i really really do hate them. They are not big nor clever, instead of ruining games why don’t they gain the intelligence to develop a game themselves… oh wait…

(Crytiqal) #110

if every hacker would hack for the sake of improving security, then why would there be hackers in the first place?

(zenstar) #111

Very zen. I approve.

I don’t get why they’re targetting Brink other than “for the lulz” which is basically their MO as far as I can tell.

/shrug. Nothing we can do but ride out whatever storm they have coming.
:magicpony:

(Lydia) #112

Fact : Those guys are damn attention Whores . Why attack Brink ?

Oh an zen : I look at your horse , your horse is amazing ~ xD

And i hope someone gets them first .

Here’s hoping Anonymous comes to the rescue :stuck_out_tongue:

(Lydia) #114

I don´t care who gets ´em , just someone . But i think it´s quite possible , that annonymus will get them someday >D

You should give him a lick

I hope their “attack on Brink” is some sort of misdirection or actually an attack on Bethesda that won’t affect us playing Brink. Really wish they’d go for the FIFA’s of the world that churn out the same football game with some updated names and a slight reworking of the graphics every year instead of the smaller companies trying to do something with fresh IPs and ideas.
(And I don’t play FIFA so I couldn’t care less  )

(Lydia) #116

Oh it tastes just like raisins xD

Well , we´ll see what they are actually planing . But with the FIFA-Games … well it´s just the same as the COD :stuck_out_tongue: Every year or so a new one , every new one easier , shorter , whatnot to reach the masses ._. Woohoo , that´s what we all net , AMIRITE ?

(dazman76) #117

Yeah, that would be… entertaining, ironic, bizarre, and unprecedented - in equal measure  Hacker Showdown - sounds like some kind of low-budget martial arts movie. Needs moar Ninja though really.

(Azev2000) #118

Check the latest splash damage news. Apparently they did it this weekend and were successful.

(Lydia) #119

Well , you get pirates xD Arr matey , they are comming from the pirate bay  Aye XD

But down to earth : We do live in the age of rage . Hate and fear are everywhere , if someone seems to insult somebody else , they´ll start a war , if those who want something , don´t get what they want , they´ll go enrage . Hooray internets .

(( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oikm23TAnFQ&feature=feedwll <- Corroded , Age of rage . Nothing to the topic , but a cool song  ))

Really? Was that it? And what the hell do they want with a bunch of usernames and passwords to a forum?
I mean sure: some people use the same password across their email etc etc and this will let them gain acess to blah blah… but seriously? Was that it?
