I think you’ll have a tough time finding an outsider with the same values to take over (That doesn’t already have a clan). Better off going for a merge with a clan you trust to have the same values. What would be bad about a merge? Everything stays the same except the clan tag.

At least it’s admirable that you are willing to hand over the servers. Most clans I’ve seen are there one day and gone the next, generally the players just move to other communities or 1 prominent figure of the previous clan will try to band as many together as possible and start something new.

Your best bet is to get someone from within your own clan or server or someone you have played with on ET a lot and know well.

I forgot to mention that. Yes, I am actually considering all options. There are a few candidates in my clan, but few people these days know how to admin ET servers, we are a dying breed. Only a couple of these candidates has the experience needed, and one of them is somewhat of a jerk, the other cannot make up his mind. I am assuming he will say no.

If I find somebody from the outside, I will work with them first, get to know them, before handing over control.

However, even if I do promote somebody from inside the clan, I think they will really need one more guy who knows how to make server changes (i.e., maps, scripts, mods, cvars, sound packs…etc).

So if there are any experienced admins out there who are looking for a home, but don’t want to be Owner, please PM me anyway.

You have a lot Members, and didnt found 3 Admins who you know well (and they have the knowledge for it) ?

I can help in some ways if you want, but as above said: It is better and safer to find an old friend of your clan that has the knowledge, than any foreign you do not know (which normally takes months or years).
All “new friends” in most cases are not worth to name them “friends”.
I drive my servers alone and i trust only 8 Persons into the ET-Szcene since 2004 ^^

Maybe some member can do the effort of learning, if they really appreciate the clan and want to keep it alive…

This is a good question to ask in intern.

The new owner spot was filled, and the person in the clan that I wanted finally accepted :D.

However, if anyone is interested in applying for admin positions, feel free to PM me. The requirements are very similar, and we will not accept just anyone. We will get to know you first. We only need like maybe one or two more, so this is a limited time offer.

As far as I am concerned, this thread is closed and I will not be responding.
