Lol at Bethesdas Brink forum

(xTriXxy) #1

i dont understand whats the point for Bethesda to have brink forum. their forum is totally useless. they have 2 subforums for brink.

one subforum, called brink, is brink related, but nothing is allowed there. you cannot post any links to any magazines there, or sites. almost all is prohibited.

second subforum is “community”, which is not brink related

their forum is just pure chaos, and main topics are " there will be monthly subscription for brink, tons of rumors, most useless class (LOL) and rest is more than random words.

its clearly visible on bethesdas forum visitors, they are confused about brink after visiting their forum.
“for someone is brink 3rd person game” , you know, rumors, … thats the main content of bethesdas forum.

And yet, it has more BRINK related posting activity (or so it seems) than SD’s BRINK forum.

Odd.

Also, according to Google Analytics, more traffic comes through to my forum from Bethesda’s site than SD’s on most days. It makes very little sense to me.

(BioSnark) #3

Lack of subcategory organization is because the game has not been released. It’s the same level of organization as on this site.

(Nail) #4

The Bethesda forums are the “Official” Brink forums as stated on the Brink website

(Zanchile) #5

bethesda didnt used to be like that. then people came in and started posting random **** left and right

(Wraith) #6

This will never end.

(xTriXxy) #7

this is only their problem. if there is only 1 subforum on brink official forum site, sure there is mess.
how many people will visit their forum? thousands per day?

btw they are locking threads with 200+ posts. just as bonus.

You mean, as a rule, they lock any thread that tops 200 posts???

Some forum rules I simply do not understand.

Still, it’s quite the active forum, if nothing else.

lol yeah, just check their forum rules:)

(BioSnark) #10

The reasoning behind that rule is that the topic has either become circular or derailed.

All the unreleased game forums, there, have only one category. The community section is obviously in reference to Brink and the fact that it is not open may have something to do with Brink not being released and so only having speculative communities at the moment. The “rumors” are questions about the game. Maybe some people from this forum march on over and bitch at everyone who has a question that has been answered previously and not answer it. Maybe not.
The Bethesda forums are the “Official” Brink forums as stated on the Brink website
Seems like it. I hoped it would be this forum as I’m no fan of the bethesda style / forum software.

(Nail) #12

Community section has NOTHING to do with Brink and is not closed, it’s their equivalent of “OFF TOPIC” and is for discussions about games not released by Bethesda as well as birthdays, pictures etc.

(BioSnark) #13

I stand corrected. It’s a redirect, not an actual Brink subforum.

(xTriXxy) #14

it is,

(Nail) #15

well, it’s actually a Bethesda sub-forum as it shows up on all their game forums

(Nikto) #16

discussions, ideas, questions. those are the main things you’ll find on that forum.
sure it get’s annoying to answer the same questions over and over, but the people who answer those questions gradually get replaced by others who then also get replaced(this reduces the amount of frustration every single person gets).

(Vaporman) #17

Not necessarily. However, in the case that the discussion has indeed veered severely OT, it is the duty of the moderator(s) to insure that it returns to the intended topic. Simply locking it once it reaches a specified number almost seems a bit lazy. But that’s just me.

I have nothing against the Bethesda forums. The navigation can be slow, and the appearance and features are bare-bones, but they keep the BRINK community talking, and this is a good thing.

(BioSnark) #18

I did not intend to place a value judgment on that rule.

If people are frustrated they shouldn’t be answering or even reading the questions. Same with people complaining about previews looking the same. Indeed, the repetitive questions point to a need for the repetitive previews.

(AnthonyDa) #19

So I heard that somebody is trying to promoting his own website/forum and this same person is spitting on bethesda forum? Odd.

(Paul) #20

Ah whatever, be glad we’ve got SD
