Logitech MX 1000 ET setup.

Hi fellas.

Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these?

I noticed thst the scroll wheel now supports “side ways” scrolling and wondered if this could be used for “lean”. If anyone does have one or knows how to best accomplish this, I would be greatful of any tips.

Cheers :drink: in advance.

You prolly have to ‘change’ the meaning of the side-scroll button for ET…(logi control panel)

Could do… Side-left = F9, Side-right = F10, then in your et config bind F9 to +leanleft(?) and F10 to +leanright(?)… or whatever the lean commands are :p.

There might be an easier way to do this, but I’m at uni atm so can’t really try this
MAYBE… ET recognizes the scroll to the left as ‘mwheelleft’ / ‘mwheelright’, but I doubt it :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers Salteh

Unfortunately the side scroll button function is not programmable. :disgust:

I sent Logitech a mail, and their reply was:-

Thank you for contacting Logitech’s Electronic Technical Support.

I understand that you want to know whether it is possible to assign a different function or keystroke to the horizontal scrolling buttons of the MX1000 mouse.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to program the horizontal scrolling buttons of the MX1000 mouse. These buttons are not programmable. These buttons will work only for horizontal scrolling.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to you.

Bugger springs to mind.

Still it’s a nice smooth ride, accurate to the point of being silly and for a cordless mouse responsive and not at all laggy.

Tried the suggetion of editting the user.xml file, but had absolutely no joy whatsoever.

Still not phased by this negative result, I persisted in my quest, to prove the techno dude from Logitech wrong.

I have since found that Logigamer have a beta version for gaming mice config’s on the Logitech MX1000.

Using the small download you can now assign keystrokes to buttons 9 and 10 (Side Scroll), then simply edit your autoexec.cfg with the the lean key binds.

Download page = http://www.logigamer.com/#download

Keep an eye out for updates.

BTW… Ensure you have the updated drivers from Logitechs site Prior to running this beta version.

Thanks for your tips and links tho’ fellas.
