I have reasons to believe that the problem affects more people then just TAW members. I can’t play and I’m not a member.

Well that was quick. Turns out ETQW sprawling back-end is currently being migrated to another datacenter. Everything should be back to normal within a few hours.
On a related note, it seems we weren’t getting maintenance notifications before, hence the lack of notice from our end. That’s now been fixed, so we’ll be able to give you a heads up for future planned maintenance.

really? thats bull****.
how should it help anyone who wants to play if we know in advance that the server will be down “for a few hours” . you guys decided to only allow us to play if we login into a masterserver first, so ffs take care that the server stays online 24/7. and if it crashes the backupserver falls in place.
annoying as hell.
(hint: drop a last patch that bypasses the login process. would be the honorable last thing to do.)

If we know in advance when the servers are going to be down, we won’t be like “OHH NOEZZ!!11 ENDZ OF TEH WORLDZ!!11” we’d be like “Maintenance time, gunna bake a cake”. If you don’t like cake then you do something else. If the servers aren’t maintained then they could crash permanently, so we wouldn’t be able to play every again. About patches, there’s been months/years of asking for a new patch, and there won’t be because (correct me if im wrong) Activision would have to give it the go ahead, which i doubt because they’re the demon incarnate.

nope, they handed them money, it’s a Activision game, developed by Splash Damage, Splash Damage doesn’t own the game, they just built one port, just like the guys at Ford don’t own the cars they build
