Little Pub Action, Euro Lag and Bad Collision and Register Lag

Euro servers are beyond laggy for me and I feel I almost need to go arty to have a chance… The way people move and warp past or through me is very annoying. Knifing is near impossible and luck when i does happen.

I was averaging 90 fps in the video… Again felt super lagger. You can tell by my aim how I try to anticipate the person laggy or warppy action and I over compensate A LOT!

Your video doesn’t really show anything except floor collision still being an issue and waterloo attackers getting camped in spawn.

(fzl) #3

hehe this was from last night ha?

i was on the same server… always lags in infight and warping all around…

i write this in chat last night!.. the game makes the kill/death ratio atm not the players…!!!

Can’t see any signs of lag here at all. I see the step up collision issue on the tube and we know about the gas effect not always appearing in the tunnel, that’s something else we’re investigating.

What do you think the video shows in terms of lag? Can you give time stamps where it happens?

(Humate) #5

In terms of lag this is actually pretty good.

(Glottis-3D) #6

mb spooky shared with us the ONLY 4minutes of non-lag content he found during several monthes of play???

(trickykungfu) #7

maybe pilgrim and spook should just reset their configs XD can’t see anything…

(spookify) #8

It was actually one night of play and it actually wasnt that laggy. All from last night.

If I were to make the same video in a USA server it would be twice as fast and 100 times smoother…

It just sucks playing in euro servers… Would have done thousand times better in a usa server. So much easier to track in a USA server and hits feel so much better. In this video it felt like I was hitting air and people were wrapping around.

(spookify) #9

As I watch it again and again I have no idea how I can track these glitch warppy players… You can see in my aim I have no idea where they are going to go… Animation is not smooth… Give you a headache trying to follow in this game. For a very accurate shooter its not cool.

I think that is my biggest point.

Can you give me a time stamp with a specific example? I get that you sometimes overshoot people but I’d say that’s more down to erratic movement on their part than lag.

I understand that it sucks to be playing on EU servers from the US, once we’ve improve the game we’ll definitely ramp up player numbers again which should solve this.

I’d prefer though if you could avoid reporting playing at 140+ms latency as server lag though, they are very different things. Server lag means performance issues on the server that is affecting all players in the session, those are critical bugs we need to fix. High latency from cross-atlantic play is something we’d like to make smooth if we can, but isn’t top of our list right now for obvious reasons.

i dont reset my config…its custom …ok without netsettings there are original…

i set all texture settings to “false” and my texturegroup settings to 64MinLodsize and 64 MaxLodSize

The Rest of my config is “pure”:):)

Also i overclocked my gtx 770 with nvidia inspector to: 220mhz more gpu clock and 380mhz more memoryclock and the vcore goes 12,5 mVolt up

my ping is very stable on eu or us servers but over 6 players/server comes the lags back … no idea before this build was it ok!!!

note: i fixed my game crashes now! i set in taskmanager the extraction . exe from low to high priority in properties…

enough informations?..

we all hope for the next build… my hope is that the forgotten players are coming back…

i look forward now…

note : i tested the last days some configs and play also with “resetted config”…but it is only the same…

Thanks Anti. I will change my verbiage when referring to Lag and be specific if its actually server lag which has been pretty good lately or when servers arent maxed out or some type of game lag.

I see in a post fzl just made that he edits the netsettings… Will this be locked… Or would you suggest I or everyone edits this too? Would this contribute to a laggy enemy feel? I havent edited the netsettings ever and dont even know what to put them at but it works the same way timenudge did in ET and RTCW then we have a problem and that needs to be locked asap.

Watching this video over and over I wish I would have slowed down a few more parts. The people and animation are so fast its crazy.

Example #1: What is Stoker doing at 0:21? So hard for the eye to see but he is jumping and spinning like crazy. Lucky he didnt have a right or left movement and I could just shoot in the crazy mans direction and get the kill.

Example #2: Teleport left at 0:47… I was getting a little close but he flat out flys off my screen…

Example #3: Teleport right at mid close range at 0:50… Super hard to track especially if they start out with a telport type movement its hard to get back on.

Example #4: Medic walks off curb and goes for a revive at 3:25… He teleports forward a few feet…

Example #5: A guy RLRLR on Stairs Glitching or teleporting at 3:31

Example #6: 3:52 missed knife WTF

Example #7: 3:54 kill knife WTF haha!

(INF3RN0) #13

Not really seeing it… moment of annoying lack of player collisions and pipe clipping, but that’s all. Most of those moments of ‘teleporting’ you can see that you’re just moving your own mouse from side to side a little too fast. Just seemed like you had more trouble tracking the people strafing fast with a lot of over/under compensation, maybe a sensitivity issue? Idk. I’ve seen teleporting in game though, but it’s much more obvious than any of these.

(stealth6) #14

You can change the speed of youtube videos (click the gear icon), change it to 0.25 to slow it down. The example at 0:50 is very obvious this way.

(spookify) #15

I will try to lower my mouse sens but I am reacting to their movements… I think my mouse is only at 2… If I go lower I might not be able to spin around with those people at are in you… I dont want to raise my FOV because I hate how small people get. I like to be able to see the head.

(spookify) #16

My youtube gear Icon only changes my Quality? Is there a setting in youtube I need to click for advanced somethings?

(stealth6) #18

Not that I know of, but I just remembered that youtube does that thing where nobody’s on the same version.

(PixelTwitch) #19

Spookify have you ever thought about how it looks to over people playing vs you?
The movement I see here is movement I see regularly on the EU servers…
Personally I feel its as much different playstyles in US to EU as I do lag…

Also, some of the warping you listed… If you look at your ammo count you will see these are missed frames.

(Glottis-3D) #20

Spooky, can you lower your sense, and capture video with as much frames per second as possible??

low sens with good quality 60fps video will seal the deal, i am sure.
