List your top 3 Brink issues....constructively.

There may be another similar thread, but I’m interested to know your top 3 overall issues with Brink. Hopefully the issues with the most recurring theme get noticed by SD.

For me:

  1. Gametypes

We love Brink for its objective gameplay, but mixing in a little dual objective, or even game-changing maps to mix up a gametype would really keep this game fresh. Hopefully these ideas come with the upcoming DLC.

  1. Lobby

Don’t think i need to touch on this too much. SD knows it. We want a lobby/fireteam option. One with an option to view your other players’ characters (like Halo: Reach) and stats would REALLY be awesome.

  1. Stats site

We know it’s coming, but seems to be taking its time. Looking forward to this one.

I didn’t put lag/graphics in my top 3 because i reckon SD are already working on these issues and I’m more worried my top 3 will be overlooked.

  1. No Party-Up Lobby

It’s just damn tedious to drop in and out of Matches to try and fit all the people into a Match…but hey, I’m in luck, as everyone I know who had the game, has immediately seen fit to be rid of it…and that is a damn shame…

  1. MatchMaking

Just saying, but when I go into MatchMaking, I’d expect to be playing…Players, not damn near a whole Team of Bots and one lone Player…and the ironic thing is, if I were to get what I ask for right now, it’d be a tad laggy for a few people in the Match, so for now, it’s a lose-lose situation…but luckily enough I’m happy just playing solo with Bots…

  1. Leveling Up/Experience

Now I know I might get beaten to death with blunt instruments for saying this, but COD has it right with the Leveling and Experience, now I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the balance for the payout between Classes, I just mean on the final Stat Screen for the Match, Experience is just a single load, it’d be nice to how much you got from Main/Secondary Objectives, Team Buffs and Kills, it’s very bland and boring just seeing the single payout, 'specially as it takes a while to Level between 16-20…
And final point, I’m not asking for them, or saying they should have been in the game, but some kind of Challenge or Reward System for doing certain things would have been nice, like a Medic’s Medal for Reviving so many people, or a Solider’s Medal for planting so many HE Charges…

  1. The Allied Bots being too mediocre
  2. The Enemy Bots having more aim than the average player.
  3. The Stability issues others are getting (I’m fine so far), stopping them from playing with me.

  1. Performance issues

This game is still pretty much unplayable for a lot of users out there.

  1. Balance

Favors lights, smg’s and defense. Bad balance definitely contributes to the game getting old fast.

  1. Lack of competitive features

At the very least demo recording and first person spectating need to be added. Not only are they crucial for a good competitive game, they also help catching cheaters.

Check, check, and check. In that order. Everything else works enough for me to have fun.

I’m afraid the stats site won’t have exactly what I was looking for either. I want wins/losses, etc. Not how many turrets i’ve placed…

  1. Performance, i’m on ATI and i get a minimum of around 40fps, i would have mario graphics for a constant 120fps.

  2. Not enough spread/recoil on SMG’s, they also have too much ammo or AR’s have too little.

  3. Competitive gaming features [i want the SDK so bad :/]

Xbox 360 - Actual issues, not suggestions

  1. Lag/connection - 50% of the time I login to a new game, there’s either lots of lag or one of the people in my party can’t join. If we quit and try again, it usually works just fine. Weird, no? I look forward to the patch.

  2. Audio - I use the Tritton AX720s. A lot of times, especially after a grenade explosion as already deafened my hearing (in game, not in real life), some wacky stuff happens: Either the game will mute rapidly on and off for a few seconds, or certain other sounds (bullet ricochet?) will come through crystal clear while most sounds will still be muffled.

  3. Gameplay - As a Heavy Engy, I can buff weapons and dish out Kevlar. If I hit X to do either on a Light friendly character running away, my Engy runs at super speed to catch up with them to do the buff. Sometimes, when I finally do catch up to them because they’ve stopped, I don’t deliver the buff, even though the entire time I’ve been holding the X button. So now I have to let go of the X button and try again. Minor issue, but it’s an annoyance.

Suggestions:

Game Modes - Deathmatch, CTF, and S&D would be MUCH appreciated. Would extend the life of this game tenfold, even if you just add these modes to the current maps. Heck, the current maps could all be split into smaller maps. So the 8-10 maps we already have could turn into 16-20 maps.

AI Bot commands - If playing solo or multiplayer co-op vs bots, it would be great to give a friendly bot an order. So, look at friendly bot, hold down whatever button to call him over, use Objective wheel to give exact order (Main Obj, Com Post, Escort Me, etc), bot follows your command.

Oooh, this is a bug too, Damn, I am at 4 bugs now, oh well:

Minigun - I’d like to get this video captured, but many times when I have the right trigger pulled, I have rounds available, I’ve had the barrel pre-spinning with the left trigger, but no bullets come out even after 2-3 seconds. It’s like the minigun is jammed. I thought maybe it’s lag or just a graphics glitch, but the enemies dont get hurt. There are no blood splatters and no baddies die. It’s not lag, because this happens while playing solo as well. It’s kinda weird. I pretty much prep for it now: Minigun fail? -> Y button -> Shoot 2ndary weapon. It may even happen with the Chinzor as well, not sure. I’ll main the Chinzor tonight.

  1. Missing “F” on some incapped enemies, therefore, cannot hack them and sometimes melee doesn’t kill them no matter how many tries (animation still occurs)

  2. Crashes to desktop for me sometimes, when I am trying to disguise. Cannot find a source of a problem.

  3. Sound never fully works on Refuel for me.

Not a point really… Some maps have almost impossible tasks for casual players… can’t fix that. (eg. Reactor map - 90% of the time resistance cannot complete the hack. There is a bridge access that engineers can open, but I was never able to make engineers on my team sneak in there from the stairs.)

Enemies sometimes invisible (rejoining game resets it)
Numerous sound issues , hard to tell whats intentional and whats not atm.
Being able to chat over the end cinematics, or disabling them and jumping straight to lobby for next map, with easier access to chat. (gg’s and post game chatter is important!)

  1. Less bots

Seems like every game I play has 2-3 humans on a team (max) and the rest is filled with bots. I have broadened my filter as much as I can, including Big Teams, and the most humans I’ve had in a match is 7 so far, leaving 11 others being played by bots. I want to play multiplayer with humans :(.

  1. Gun descriptions

Can I see if a gun is a single, 3 shot burst, or a fully auto-matic weapon in the customization screen? Please? If it’s there, maybe I’m slightly handicapped and missed it. Also a possibility. And I know rate of fire is somewhat an indicator too.

  1. No more joining the end of games

I don’t like joining a game with less than 30 seconds left (or even just to see Mission: Successful pop up). Please set up something that a game won’t allow more humans if there’s less than 2 minutes left, or something like that.

I’ve never played an SD game before this. But with what the community says about SD as devs, I hope that sticking it out through this really pays off.

  1. Lobby System. The way the game handles putting a party/team together is horribly cumbersome.

  2. ADS. The way the game handles ADS turn/look speed needs to be addressed. As it is now it’s more difficult to be precise than it should be. Basic iron sights and every ADS attachment except for improved iron sights needs to have reduced turn/look speed. What would be even better though would be for there to be a separate slider for ADS speed along with the regular X/Y axis options. This would allow each player to tailor all look/turn speeds to their liking, not just the basics. This is coming from a 360 user, btw.

  3. Weapon balance. A small number weapons are subpar or are pretty much worthless. Most notably the Tampa, FRKN-3k, and Maximus. The Tampa is as bad as bad gets. Fast reload and high damage mean nothing if you can’t even hit anything with any level of accuracy. The forced time between bursts with the FRKN-3K causes it to fire too slowly to keep up with other weapons. You can do the same thing, but better by burst firing with the Gerund.

As for the Maximus, it’s one of three big bullet dispensers. Two of them are hipfire only machines. Being that among the heavy-only weapons the Maximus alone has the ability to ADS, you would think it would be fairly accurate firing it that way. However, even with a muzzle break it really isn’t. Beyond the first shot fired, you’re bullet spread immediately begins to go out of control. Because of its inaccuracy, its worse than the Chinzor and Gotlung at hipfiring, and most ARs and some SMGs are as good if not better than the Maximus at mid/long range while ADS. It’s still usable, but you’re better off using just about anything else.

1.) Make the friendly AI more intuitive toward primary objectives.
2.) Occasional lag on 360
3.) Use the notification tab in game so I don’t have to visit the den of negativity that is currently SD forums.

  1. Give us proper PC controls, we can use more keys than one for nades and another one for everything else.

  2. Slightly related: the F key makes me want to scream the F word too often, between struggling to do the right thing when there’s a lot of stuff, the automatic movement that sometime results in taking half a second to figure where it did turn me if I’m running past the target, or the character who decides he should do that action while leaving cover (ex: getting a disguise behind a corner as operative). When it is not just unresponsive and requires spamming it while trying different angles to do something. Also everyone able to run faster than light body type speed by “clever use” of that automatic movement feature is a bit wrong.

  3. The UI, from the server browser filters (is there even a way to filter out empty servers?) to the game chat which should be easy to see by a keypress without interrupting the game and visible on the server lobby.

TL;DR: release a PC version please.

1: Lobby.

I’m only had a handful of laggy games in the past two days and that was because of bad host. It’s VERY ANNOYING having 30-40 games that are half bots and half humans. Never fully human.

2: Bots (kind of goes with the above)

Bots are just… Horrible. Not much to say.

3: Graphic problems.

I have a PS3 and to be honest, there was only one match I had with noticable graphic problems.

Option to turn off crosshair pulse.
More crosshair options.
Voice chats like ET/rtcw cause no one EVER GIVES ME AMMO.
