Lion Mountain

Hi everyone
Last week I installed Lion Mountain on my mac without knowing that this will cause me problems. For years I’ve been playing on one of the server of a French team MTC and those guys always helped me if I had a problem with the game until today…Nobody seems to know what to do with my problem. We play on ETblight.
When I joined the server from their website with gtlight I get a loop from a sound file. I reinstalled everything and even got the file from them to installed in my Etblight folder but the loop keep coming back.The rest of the files seems to have no problem to be downloaded. If I go to the console during the loop I get the mention that the file already exist but with the wrong checksum. I looked in my Etblight file and the file that I got from them is exactly the same size as the loop file but ET doesn’t seem to see it anymore ???

If I go inside the game and try another server (as for example a server running NQ) I have no problem joining the game but I can play one map only! If we change map, I don’t see my weapon anymore or the weapon of everybody else ??? If I log out and log in again It is the same thing over and over. I’ve been looking on the net and found someone having exactly the same problem since he installed Mountain. But nobody could helped him either

Does one of you genius can help me please?

P.s I don’t want to deinstalls Mountain because the new feature are great with apple tv

One of the problem using 10.8, is the download of too long sound files. If they exceed 31 caracter, it wiil constantly loop during download. The only thing you can do is to ask the administratir of the server you’re having trouble with to shortener the files name to 31 caracter.

Did u try to suppress all the pk3 in etmain and etblight folders (excepted: pack0.pk3 pack1.pk3 pack2.pk3) ?
Maybe your issue is related to Mac, but try before a classical “tips”, I mean a clean etmain.

Yes I deleted the hole game, but first I saved my ETkey, my etconfig.cfg and my folder PB to envoy problem later on. I deleted ET in my application and as well in my invisible library/application support/wolfenstein folder. After downloading the et 260d .dmg, I reinstalled everything and got unfortunately the same problem

Please what is gtlight ? And do you have your problem simply CONNECTing BY IP, or through ONLINE server-list ?

Gt light is a program installed on my computer who permit to start ET through the Server website that I play on http://www.mtc-team.fr/. I tried as well to log through the game but I can’t succeed to log either.

Jackrabbit can you provide more information about your system?
Apple model? GFX*Card?

Also as workaround you can try instead of closing and reopening ET, open console, and try /vid_restart
If that does not help, e.g. models are still missing, try /reconnect
Yer else you will have to close and start again… lol.

Else you can also try the old workaround, specially the gfx card status stuff … yet your reported problem does not match any which had been reported for the previous Lion version…:

Ok guys!
After remaking my auto exec.cfg with another editor then text-edit I was able to log again on my server.

So now you are playing ETBlight on Mountain Lion OS?
Do you know what the specific error/s was, and how you solved it?
