What about GNU/Linux? Will there be a native client for our operating system as it was the case with W:ET and ETQW?
Don’t know about other people, but I preordered ETQW just because Linux support was confirmed beforehand.
Linux?
Probably not, I won’t be playing it if there isn’t but since steam is on Linux now as well as many games put across and many more in progress it would be nice to take advantage of the fresh audience - since I assume by the time this game is anywhere near done Steam on Linux will probably be completed and out of beta.
Not likely since there’s no Unreal Engine port for Linux (unless you count Ryan Gordon’s work that was aborted by Epic.)

[/QUOTE]Poor you!
/joking, the benchmarking stuff on there is pretty good.
Can’t see it happen. Unless there would be button like DONATE FOR LINUX VERSION and total amount of money needed to collect, then maybe. I would encourage SD to make one
There’s news. Do you guys know about The Humble Indie Bundle. The latest one has been released today, and it includes Dungeon Defenders, which uses UnrealEngine 3. I’m downloading the GNU/Linux client right now.
Doesn’t surprise me it’s working on Linux now.
With Valve intending to abandon DirectX altogether, many more developers looking at OpenGL only games / engines, and so many more Mac, Linux & Mobile games being produced, the writing’s on the wall.
What’s more, with Linux users consistently having the highest spend per head (far higher than Windows / Mac) on free or discretional pricing products, it’s becoming increasingly silly not to port games.
Very much doubt there’ll be a native Linux client at launch, but if the game is successful, the way the winds are blowing I’d be very surprised if one wasn’t released.
Awww… and with DX11.1 now exclusive with Win8… all that innovation squandered. What a shame.
OpenGL has superceded DirectX in terms of its feature-set now, so together with it generally being faster than DirectX and new features being addable to the engine (not possible without re-writing the engine in DX) on a rolling basis … who cares?

Just wanted to jump on this…I also am playing Dungeon Defenders now in Linux. It’s great. Also I’m doing an RtCW project on UDK now so hopefully we can get some Dirty Bomb stuff there too.

Here’s hoping for some Linux Dirty Bomb action.
Just happens that Dungeon Defenders has been ported by Gordon Himself as you can see in this capture from my own computer!
EDIT: Actually, with the crappy size of these attachments, you won’t be seeing much, but the point is that the files’ owner and group is “icculus”.
