id has always supported linux, I would be very surprised if they didn’t with this game.

really? wow.
The most important part here is that ET:QW is based on OpenGL, so even if there’s no linux version, it should work fine with Wine. Of course, I prefer native applications, and most probably ET:QW will have a linux client.
Well, nothing is over to me: playing with 360 maybe means playing with DirectX, but DirectX is present on Quake / Doom series since a long time & can be replaced, etc…
Now we now that EA was chosen for Orc & Elves, but it doesn’t mean that every id title won’t be published by Activision.

There will be a linux release, people. Get over it. Not only it has been already mentioned but it’s also kind of obvious with any id game. They haven’t been founded by former Microsoft employees, you know.

I think it’s pretty funny that the whole game industry uses direct3D and carmack still sticks with OpenGL.
That’s just great.
Not only is he using OpenGL over DirectX, he also creates some of the most beautiful engines out there.

ET was the game that finally allowed me to give up Windows entirely, if I have a good, solid game to hold my attention, I don’t need to dual-boot.
Now if we could just get a universal binary build of ET…
