I’ve spent nothing but time on this game. In my estimation, something like 90% of F2P games have horrible prices, and I think DB is one of them: the things they sell are too expensive, and everything you buy is designed to lead to buying something else.

I bought the starter back and some other stuff. Mainly for my own entertainment but also to support the devs. Currently I’m more cautious though since I just don’t want to throw away my money or effort.

It’s really rare I come across game which theme I like and I have so much fun playing as I have had Dirty Bomb.

Money well spent I would say even if Dirty Bomb would still fall short in other fronts.

It’s beta. So if they have to rely on my/our money, imo either the state they chose is wrong, the business-plan is wrong, or something else is up.
So at least get most of the obvious stuff fixed, and probably I’ll refrain from my stand. And no, not talking about the merc- or map-numbers.

I bought one of the bundles, but now I have all the mercs and many credits saved for the next ones.

SD, I really want to give you my monies in exchange for cosmetics, but I refuse to take part in the current random skin for a random merc with a random loadout roulette.

Elite cases are fine as a bonus for bundles or special events, but if I tou want me to spend my money, I need to have much more control. At least separate Silver+ skins from loadouts and let me choose a merc. Then I may consider buying elite cases.

Separating Silver+ skins may work so that if you have a Bronze loadout you can apply the paid skin to it. So you still need to have those Bronze loadouts, either from the store or tradeups.

I got the game on June 5th and haven’t spent a single cent. I have about 4 mercs left to buy and spent about 170+ hours already. I find it sort of funny people pay for cases and mercs when you get cases for free and mercs only take about 10 hours of playing to get.

I’ve purchased phantom and redeye, a few cases and a bundle. I luckily got the starter pack for free on a stream so unlocked most mercs for me. I will probably spend more on new mercs as they get released and maybe more cases in the future if some unique stuff are on the offering.

Where’s the “I bought into the closed beta”?

One thing I’m very curious about: as anyone ever bought a loadout bundle (complete set of 9 Bronze loadouts) for a merc? That’s one of the items in the store that makes no sense to me since I can’t imagine really wanting more than 3 loadouts per merc (i.e. one per primary weapon) at most. Unless you intend to use the other loadouts as trade-up material, but even with the bulk reduction they come up to more or less to the same cost as getting Bronzes from buying cases and trading up, without the odd chance of getting a higher rarity loadout here and there along the way…

Well in a F2P game there is a small amount of people who spend well beyond $100, you can call em heavy users or Founders. Personally i feel a good pure multiplayergame is worth $30 and that’s what i’m gonna spend.

But the unlock structure gives little insentive to purchase anything and most items in the shop are either unneeded, overpriced or are just here to skip the grind.
