Okay, to put this in context: I’m generally interested in everything involving gamedesign, and by that also the monetization. When i started with this game I was really sceptical, if this would turn out pay2win. Luckily it didn’t, and it was quite fun, so I wanted to spend money on it to support the developers, and to have more options to choose from when selecting my mercs. But the point is, that this game has one of the worst payment modells I’ve seen, although not being pay2win. I wanted to spend money on this game, but single mercs come at a cost of 10 euros, which is ridiculous, and when you buy them in packs you get mercs that you probably don’t want. But grinding all those credits can be tedious, when you have only so many mercs to do so. Especially when some of those mercs aren’t even that unique and interesting. And I’m not even gonna start about elite cases, who would spend that much money for recolors? In league of legends you can get a whole new charactermodell plus new animations and effects for those prices. I ended up buying the bundle with Bushwhacker, Sawbones and Proxy for 16 euros, because I wanted Bushwhacker. but it didn’t really felt like it was worth it, although I didn’t regret it, because I liked the game. But it wasn’t really fun to spend that money, I didn’t spend it gladly. If you get a really nice skin in league you just feel like a boss with it, when you buy a new merc you are more like “meh, I could have grinded that”. So I wanted to know if you made the same experience like me, or if you wanted to spend money, but didn’t do it, just because there was no good way to do it. Or if you even bought cases, and if you regretted it afterwards.

Skins and other stuff you can pay for with real money are probably coming soon. Right now, SD has other things to work on, like private matches, re-releasing the mercs, tweaking the anti-cheat, and so on.

I’d be curious to know the average expenditure per region/countries. That’d be some insightful information about F2P games and how people behave.
As for myself, I just bought Bushwacker partly from my cs:go grown steam wallet. And I’d have never done that if I did not have 6 euros dying in there. I’m too suspicious to spend a dime on something that is not currently finished unless I can reliably predict some success at the end. They might receive some more from me after the proper release if they keep adding content to the game.

I’ve spent 30 on the starts and 30 on 10 elite cases. I just wanted to give them $60 really because I like the game. I work in content creation and appreciate the work that goes into these things. I dont really feel the need to spend more then $60 though. Star citizen people spending $1000 is insane to me.

You had to buy into the Early Alpha by buying a Founder’s pack. You got a cool Dirty Bomb T-shirt and Founder’s versions of Proxy, Fragger, Skyhammer, Sawbonez, and Vassili.
As much as I love this game and as much as I want to see it succeed I don’t see myself wasting money on it in the near future since I prefer to waste most my money on stuff I can’t leave without and then luxuries which have almost no money for them.
After I played for a bit and really enjoyed the game, I wanted to support the developers and spent $20 on some mercs. Haven’t bought anything since. I’ve considered the elite cases because I’ve only ever received a single silver from standard cases. I’ve been trading up to get my golds.
Seems low don’t you think? Got me scared for a moment I was some poser advertising 2 grand spent but only having 1 show up.
The other 1 grand comes from before steam trading cards were implemented.
