Leave Fireteam

What the command to get out of a fire team?

Good question. The manual doesn’t say anything much about fireteams at all. :frowning:

Also, what’s with all this “private fireteam” bit? Seems to me that if you have a private fireteam it’s the same as choosing not to join one. Is this just an element of the game that was left unfinished? If so, it’s a pity since it was one aspect of ET I was looking forward to :frowning:

I suppose my real question is: how does one get into a game with some mates and have your own separate fireteam?

i believe private fireteam means that you have to invite people (like your buddies) so that it doesn’t fill up with random joins

There are two fireteam menus, both of which can be bound from the menu Options->Controls. They are Fire-Team quck chat, and Fire-Team admin.

Fire-Team admin lets you create/leave/invite etc etc.

Creating a fireteam which is public, lets people join it without asking you, (wtih the popup when they join). Making it Private allows only those whom you invite join, which is likely what you are after Coolhand.

Hit enter on the number pad(by default) to open fireteam menu. Use the numbers above the letter keys to navigate what option u want.

I think the correct answer to the question is: Num Pad Enter, then 2. That will remove you from the fireteam and remove the annoying box from your screen.

Thanks for the pointers, people

Now all I have to do is to find some friends

[edit] Hmmm… this fireteam malarky seems to work very well. Anyone have any thoughts on protocol? I’ve just finished playing a North Africa campaign and experimenting with the fireteam icons.

So I turn on the icons for the guys in my fireteam, and lo and behold I can identify them easily. I haven’t got a clue who they are, but I just assume they know what they’re doing and provide support. One or other of the squad always seemed to know where to be…

The difficult part was those “other” Axis players, the ones without icons on their heads. I think they must be just bots.

Most of the TKers and healthstrippers are bots, ISTM

Axis won all three games in the campaign. Never had a game like it before, lots of fun

Sorry, just that /me is keen to hear others’ opinions on fireteams
