Least Favorite Merc to Play?

(hawkeyeguy99) #1

Who is it that gives you cancer? Who is it that when their mission pops up you consider clicking that X even though there’s extra credits in it for you? Who just makes you want to rip your soul out?

For me, it HAS to he proxy. I literally cannot stand playing as her. I will put her in my squad just to get her mission done, but play the whole game as Bushwhacker instead. I believe she is actually just cancer and aids personified in DB.
I’m a heavy taunter, I love using in-game voice lines but for some reason I want to rip my ears out when I use proxy’s taunts. WHY IS SHE SO FREAKING ANNOYING?! LIKE WTF!!

Rhino.
Never been into tanky/heavy class playstyle. I can see the appeal, just not my cup of tea.

Cancer, AIDS, Proxy… the hell has she been doing?

For me, it has to be Vassili. His health makes him an abomination against most of the mercs one hit kill abilities. Aimee has a neat nerve shocking camera that actually contributes to the team other than being a cheap wallhack, and her French accent is far more bearable than Vassili’s fake London chittering. Grandpa Red is so damn fun to play, especially with the PDP. Brings back memories of wiping people with the autosniper and ninja defuses from CS Source.

Second only by Rhino. The damn EV outruns this tubby turd, and his hitbox is so large, a damn Bronze Officer like me can headshot this guy. Sure he’s fun when you have someone pocketing you, but half the time, you’d have five medics three kilometers away from you, circle jerking each other waiting for your fat flabs to get to the engagement.

Third is Fletcher. Not a bad merc or anything, just that I nearly dislocated my Q and E keys trying to play him. That, and literally everyone above level 100 plays this Nigeria nincompoop just to terrorize noobs.

For me its sawbones, everyone has a unique gimmick being it a deployeble or a self revive our even a bloody minigun. And sawbones got: a large medpack…
Dont get me wrong he is a very usefull and strong merc to play with, but he is just boring.

Here’s how to have fun with Sawbonez;

Find a casual 8v8 Objective server.
Ignore all of your teammates, find a sniper’s den, and laugh gleefully as you outsnipe actual snipers with your BL82 loadout, then just hide behind a thin layer of cover everytime you feel mildly grazed, drop a bag of gauzes and bandages, then drink the disinfectant because it’s a nice substitute for alcohol.

Some Russian dude logged into an Asian server, and rekt my team with this tactic, going 35/7.

Sparks. Too focused on supporting/running away and self-healing. Having to walk slowly with the REVIVR charging is also annoying. I used to completely ignore Rhino for like 160+ levels too but eventually bought him and learned to moderately enjoy him.

Thunder, proxy and nader. Thunder feels cheap, so does proxy and random kills with a nader spam also feels cheap.

O_O

Any Sniper bcuz I can’t aim for sh**.

Recon - Aimee because of her low HP, Assault - Thunder because I hate how weak his LMG is when it shouldn’t be and also because of his grenade which is obnoxiously designed, Fire Support - Um… Skyhammer I guess? I just prefer the others because of faster cooldowns. Medic - Sparks, not fond of her playstyle Engineer - Buschwacker, buff him please SD, he’s in the worst state of the three.

(AlbinMatt) #11

Can’t believe anyone hasn’t mentioned these:
-Stillnoto Phantom
-G52 Redeye, First gen
-Any of the Sparks loadouts other than the 383
-Any of the Bush cards other than the BL41
-Thunder. Just all of him.

(HammerOfDawn21) #12

Unpopular opinion here
Fletcher - Takes too much work, only thing I find him useful for him is clearing mines and turrets on the bomb when you have to do a last second defuse. Also it infuriates me when I see someone playing Fletcher and be a unkillable demigod.

Um… wat? He has some great other loadouts tho

Turtle because i cant play him

Any sniper. I honestly don’t feel like they belong in this game at all, I’d rather fight close up.

(LifeupOmega) #16

Rhino. Epitome of ResidentSleeper outside of the like, hour I played shotgun only.

(Xenithos) #17

Skyhammer - I’d rather just go Kira or Arty any day… Also feels like a thin version of Fragger that gives ammo, so meh.
Fletcher - When you play nothing but Fletcher for ~30 levels, realize you’ve played over 100 hours with him and beaten the time you spent on Aura, you pretty much just stop playing him, and then get guilty feelings about how much crap you did while his sticky’s were reliable.
Sawbonez - I don’t like babysitting and having to throw medpacks constantly, without having any kind of gimmick to his role. The moment SD adds an actual Sawbonez or a chainsaw as a melee weapon for him though this is changing. And if I want to hear his taunts, I can just go play Arty.

Edit: This fudging Markdown doesn’t work for formatting easily at all. Make sure whatever you’re ending formatting is on, isn’t an empty character or [spacebar].

(Your worst knifemare.) #18

-Vas cause hes pretty much the typical sniper with wallhacks

-Sawbones is just not interesting enough for me even though hes good

-Proxy, because Proxy

(BlackboltLW) #19

Just like others, Rhino. Though there’s some time I actually enjoyed playing as him, but not as often as other mercs.

Oh also Proxy.

They fit in the game as long you don’t have more than 1 sniper per team (maybe 2, depending on the map and who you are facing to) and he/they keep using his sensor in useful places, not like those newbs who throw it 2-3 feets from himself.

It’s sad when you have 2-4 snipers (generally low level players) in your team, sniping from the spawn and from the same spot…
