Um… wat? He has some great other loadouts tho

I’d love to have the CR83, which I do think is better, but I just saw a Swiss pass by me two weeks ago, and now I feel like an undignified member of society according to that loadout.

(Oo wee look at this trash of society, gaining social acceptance from virtual cards)

I don’t know why everyone hates playing Proxy. Yeah, she’s a pain to deal with unless you have a good Phantom (good luck finding those), but from my 3 hours with her, she feeels like Fletcher’s sister, while having the mobility of Kira, and those nucelar pancakes of hers are annoying, but a good few pro jumps, and you can avoid them.

I’d say any mercenary in the wrong hands but I choose Bushwhaker, and all those who hides behind his turret, you know:

  1. They see you
  2. Deploy turret desperately
  3. Crouch to hide behind the turret without any strategy in mind hoping the turret do the job
  4. They fail, then:
  • a) You are a hax
  • b). Turret is not powerful enough or useless
  • c). Bushwhacer sux

I don’t even own Bushwhacker because Proxy is the best engi for me

Any merc can deal with Proxy, yo don’t really need Phantom specifically.
To deal with Proxy you have to know how to use her, you have to know how to be a pain in the ass with her.
Let’s just say you need some “reverse engineering” to deal with her :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess having someone with Bomb Squad might help, but try planting the C4, Second Objective on Terminal against three Proxies, two mines in each container, and a mine covering the only two flank routes available, then tell me ya don’t need Phantom. (EMP Grenades plox)

Think of Grenade Launcher as a pocket mortar… you dont need to be close to containers to neutralize mines and/or covering the plant.
And yeah, Phantom is a good option, but not the only one.

Any sniper. I honestly don’t feel like they belong in this game at all, I’d rather fight close up.

They fit in the game as long you don’t have more than 1 sniper per team (maybe 2, depending on the map and who you are facing to) and he/they keep using his sensor in useful places, not like those newbs who throw it 2-3 feets from himself.

It’s sad when you have 2-4 snipers (generally low level players) in your team, sniping from the spawn and from the same spot…

I’m just generally against one-hit kill weapons in pvp games, especially those that can kill players across the map. I don’t so much mind lower damage, long range weapons like the PDP and Dreiss, but others feel very out of place.
Spotting is still critical in this game, but I really don’t feel that sniping itself adds anything good to this game.

It’s just my opinion, I’d rather be in the action than shooting at it from afar

(ImSploosh) #30

Fragger is my least played merc and I find him to be extremely boring. His ability is a simple grenade- yes, it’s powerful and his large health pool + good weapons make him a great merc, but he’s just no fun to play. He’s slow and his ability is boring. He feels too generic in my opinion. With all of the quirky and unique mercs available, why go for the one who’s essentially a normal soldier?

Kira used to be my least favorite merc (and I never played her), until one day I had a mission for her and decided to actually use her (along with the katana). Now, 6-8 months late, she’s my most played merc with the most kills and assists. She only recently passed Vassili (6 hours more playtime on her now), but I have double the kills, assists, and Exp on her in comparison.

Then there’s Sparks who I never used until the last month or so. I’ve always watched people play her and used to get out-sniped by master Sparks players when she was OP. I never liked her and had maybe 5 kills on her. Now, she’s my second or third most-used merc (still a while to go until the playtime goes up on her though). I was naturally decent with her and somehow already had the timing down for the revivr, probably due to spectating others.

So who knows, maybe Fragger will be next… He’ll be another merc that I despised, but decided to play one day just to change things up a bit… Then he’ll be my top-played merc and I’ll change my name to “Eat pineapple!!”

(CyberVonCyberus) #31

honestly my most hated merc are both Vasili and Aimee, i can’t aim for sh*t and their healthpool sucks and and every time they are on the enemy team it’s some kind of fudgin’ MLG level 699 player who wipes out the entire team at that stupid road with 0 cover on chapel (redeye i find bearable due to him having the driess and grandeur which i can aim with and require to fight close up)

second would be Bushwacker because he simply needs a buff

and third is Fletcher since his weapon switching is so borked up i usually have to press the buttons twice or thrice and i feel like sweating out of the stress (how do you use him in those fancy TAW tournaments without having a heart attack from the stickies not detonating ?)

Perfectly expectable and predictable positionning. Pick Fletcher, and toss one of your crap behind door entrance (there’s probably a mine), another behind the staircase or at the top of the stairwell, and the last one right in the first container (they’re always here, it’s obvious). You just god rid of three mines (maybe more if the Proxies are especially stupid) without Phantom.

Mine positionning can be easly predicted. Also, as long as there’s a Proxy in the enemy team in defense, always consider the main objective as being booby trapped.

Hmm… let’s see…

Eox has Kit Kat Sawbz as his profile picture
Ex-admin Raziel has a crush on Sawpapa
Djiesse and Mastadon (or however he likes to spell his name) has chosen Sawbonez as their merc picture

Yeah, you’re in the strong minority here bud. Never seriously played him though, but his abilities suggests that he’s as combat efficient as Bush and has as much quintuple the healing factor of Sporks

Rhino and any sniper.
