[last trailer feed back] Extraction is going straight to the wall.....

(zatoichi35) #1

Hi,
i saw the last Pax trailer and…i see a future failure. When i saw the other trailer, long time ago, i thought this game would have been original, new. but what you just show in the Pax trailer is just… i will be honnest … bull****. I already saw that 100 time before about another game. So, its another tactical fps? wow…and how you expect people to play it? I thought that to make a succeful game was about to make something NEW and ORIGNAL. But not somehting that player already played 100 time ?
Its doesnt even look better than Battle field, COD or CS. Its just look to familiar and low. So, worst and outdated? … really?

I KNOW, all the team work NON STOP on the game , and you focus 100% ur attention in your work, but, i think its time to make a break and think twice about the game you gonna release.

Your game has nothing attractive at all. And i see zero feature that could attract player.
Its not about" its only an alpha bro, chill", its about the way you deceided to take. Its about the choice that seems to be already taken. So, does Nexon force you to work on a such crap? or do you do it on your own?
I really wonder…
So , this game apprently not the Fast Tactical FPS that I expexected ( a mixt between Unreal Tournament and CS, with some team feature like TF2)

No, its just another ultra classic, f2p fps…I just have to type" f2p fps" in google , and I already can grab 10 fps like this…

Im not the only one to think that your game isnt orignal at all . I linked here a feedback from the most famous french FPS web site. The guys is a huge fan of Quakewars, He is a kind of splash domage fan, but he couldnt help speaking the truth about Extraction he said… it seems terrible… :

http://www.nofrag.com/2013/sep/02/43695/

Im not here as a troll, im here because i care about the game, im here because when i saw the first trailer of this game, i had the feeling that this game could be THE 2014 fps f2p game. Im here because i want to share my feedback, and i believe, i hope, that i will be listenend and youll improve your game.
Im not a free flamer, i just want to help… I know im very rude, but this trailer, the last one, was so BAD, that I couldnt use other word to describe it.

So, i dunno what to say more…

Im not a marketing expert, but as a player, as a customer , i know what i want. And i wont want another fps like this.I dont want something that already exist and already exist in a better way…

I want something new, i want something that DOESNT EXIST YET. I will copy past this KEY sentence twice , because its the main probleme of this game : i want something that DOESNT EXIST YET.
When i see the map ( terrible level design, not cool to play in) , when i see the weapon( its the 100000000000000000000 time i play with those weapon,Extraction game happen in near futuree, so where are the future weapon? ) , when i see the game mode ( not orignal and hard to anderstand, not so fun) , i dont see the reason i should play the game. but , WORST than that, I hardly see how you can improve the game, unless you rework a lot of it. A FAST fps , with some teamplay based feature would have been nice, even if it seems to late to change the game into that, i still want to believe…

I hope i wont get bullied by hardcore fan, i hope my low english wont bias my feed back. and most of all, i really hope ull make a break and think about what kind of game you gonna release VS what kind of fps the market need…

About the map design you are right. About the weapons? Dunno but the game mode is that what to expect from SD.

Just out of curiosity: Where does it say, Extraction is a face paced fps? Cant find anything like that.

I’d imagine it is really hard being a dev that deals with the playerbase when you come across threads like this.

(Volcano) #4

“i want something that DOESNT EXIST YET.”
everything has been done

Well titanfall is fairly unique. I believe there are plenty of ideas that haven’t been done yet. And when I point out titanfall I am not talking about generalities.

(mazesc) #6

Broad, unconstructive, rude criticism with unrealizable expectations.

(n4ts) #7

Offtopic:

Then invent the “hyperscopic 2000” - with new back and forward control, improved vision and super fast acceleration.
I bet that DOESN’T EXIST YET.

Ok, ontopic:
Imo, ur right about the maps, but for the rest I don’t agree with you. Your feedback isn’t also really a feedback, since you don’t give any possible solutions. So please provide the guys from SD with some feedback they can use, instead of shouting that you want something new and that they have to rework it all…

(stealth6) #8

I haven’t heard of any other big F2P FPS titles for 2014, so doesn’t that automatically make DB the best?

(Anti) #9

Not that hard actually, if there are no constructive points or objective reasoning we tend to skip over it, because we can’t take anything beneficial from it without that.

“I want something different” isn’t really feedback we can act upon, we’re not going to cancel the project and start making a totally different game. Weapons behaving ‘wrongly’, map has issues here and there, spawns don’t work well, characters aren’t original enough etc, that stuff we can evaluate, consider and potentially use.

Also, are you referring to this video being a trailer? If so it isn’t.

Or are you referring to this video?

SD kinda put the objective-based shooters on the map to be honest, in a way that I’ve yet to meet all these years in other games. No, defusing a briefcase doesn’t count as an objective.

As for UT/CS/TF2, I surely hope Extraction stays away from them, to the disappointment of the people expecting such a mix (not talking about the polish state of combat system, nor level design, just game flavour). There is stuff to learn from either of those titles, but they shouldn’t be perceived as development goals tbh.

The game is in flux, there’s a lot of theory crafting right now about where the project is heading, especially with the Nexon partnership news and I think there’s even more need for lucid feedback in these moments, rather than panic.

“a mixt between Unreal Tournament and CS, with some team feature like TF2”

I wondered what kind of game that might be, but I just couldn’t get those extremely unfitting pieces together; made no sense, especially with UT in the mix.

I wish Extraction went for another environment, I mean I’m bored of the modern style FPS games. I can only wait for the day when the fps market gets bored of this style just like they did with the WW2 theme.

Even though very legit, not very specific and probably meant as some sort of sarcasm, I actually don’t know. But I don’t think we’ve reached the end of FPS gameplay mechanics; not remotely. But peeps are maybe a bit too afraid and therefore hesitant to think a bit more out of the box.

(Ruben0s) #14

^
Yep. I also got the feeling that SD wants to play safe. I can understand it from a business perspective, but I would love to see tons of crazy ideas to be implemented in Xt. Al though if SD will do it a lot of people will rage :frowning:

And saddly I’m not original enough to create these crazy ideas. It must be extremely hard to create and think out of the box.

(.FROST.) #15

I have the exact same opinion, and I allways try too sneak it in my posts every now and again, yet a bit more subtle; maybe too subtle.

Fighting in an real life environment(with only slight overgrowth and not very much remaining CDA stuff) is really tiring for me and I thoroughly hope, that they mod their existing maps in that regard and go for a more imaginative look for their future maps. It’s NOT, that I think, they couldn’t do it, but for some odd reasons they’ve decided to keep London’s post-desaster twist a bit too subtle in my opinion.

Stuff like the new GH building interiors or this rail-switch-station from the PAX demo are really important for me. And there’s just not enough of this cool sci-fi stuff. I still like the more basic gameplay mechanic, but there’s no doubt that I’d prefer the look of Titanfall and Hawken*(yet in the SD style, if that makes sense).

*Not that advanced, since it’s not set so far in the future, but you get the idea.

I’m agree with the introduction of this topic.
DB really need some features to give it something which that can attract players.

When I look Titan Fall with its jetpacks, mechs, wall-run, I have the feeling that it will offer to me some new things, and i’m attracted by the game (even if I don’t like the base of gameplay, too close of COD).

Ok, DB will not be a new ET and don’t offers its features, but it doesn’t offers some new features. I preferred ET to Brink, but Brink had the parkour system which is really new and give some new interests to the game.

What I would like to find in DB is :

  • A remake of ET.
    OR
  • A new FPS with cool new features.

I read Nofrag, every day. At the start, I thought that Dr.loser was wrong as I waited nothing to really fresh, just a remake of ET.
But now that it’s clear that DB will not be a remake, I’m agree with him.

no not everything but Big developpers has more chance to find these new things but not impossible for smaller dev team .
lets Just hope someone in/around SD will have this Brillant idea that they need

(attack) #18

titanhfall isnt “new”. a kind of wallrun is imolementet in warzone.mechs new?!.
i like the artstyle of the maps . ,
the maps also should have more feeling of an empty lost town,
and which century you want to go ,its the truth that the kids from today want a modern time.
and i totally disagree that CS looks better than this game.
this game looks also better than the current CoD.

(Protekt1) #19

There are non-modern fps games out there… BLR is more of a futuristic steampunk fps grounded in reality… just as an example. There are also games like tribes, halo… several other options out there that deviate a lot from modern fps like shootmania.

It was on the front page of dirty bomb website weeks ago. Not anymore. And yeah, this post is a bit extreme and do not give any feedback actually.
