I used to think Arty is just a mix of Skyhammer and Kira that isn’t worth getting if you already bought Kira. Well now it looks like it’s Kira who is obselite by Arty. Arty strikes and Orbital laser seem to have good and bad sides compare to each other, but eventually you get similiar outcome from them.
In doors these 2 mercs have no access to abilities so all what’s left is 120 hp merc and fast 90 hp merc with exactly the same weapons. Same burst rfles, same pistols. Assuming Kira costs 20k more…
Now we got to the point.
Why not give Kira smgs or stronger pistols? Like Tolen MP, Empire-9 or Smjüth & Whetsman? If i’m not mistaken in Scrubs trailer Kira had smg weapon. Although it looks more like SMG-9.
Machine Pistols for her I could get behind, makes sense to be honest.
Though I don’t think she’s in that bad of a spot.
She’s just light on health, assuming you’re playing against good players you will always be at a disadvantage. This is why you have mercs like Skyhammer, Bush, and Sawbonez so widely played, because the differences in health are so minor. Only Fragger has more, and he’s basically the cannon on your tank.
This is just an example. Can be DE 50 since only Skyhammer has it in his basic loadout.
Even worse. I don’t really understand why Fletcher, Proxy and Vassili get those heavy handguns coupled with machine pistols, they’re not nearly as reliable as sidearms considering the greatly inferior magazine efficiency.

Because Machine Pistols are too powerful is the problem, they really didn’t need the range nerf, just a capacity nerf since they are secondary weapons.

I disagree, I think that heavy handguns sucking is the problem. They are all extremely unreliable even compared to the Selbstadt and M9, let alone the machine pistols.

Unreliable how? If you aim for the head the guns deal good damage, maybe they need buffs in those areas sure, but it shouldn’t replace a primary, which is what the Machine Pistols tend to do (Empire 9).
If you’re trying to use the Heavy Pistols in the same manner you’re doing it wrong, they’re BACKUPS, they’re not your main weapon, they’re meant to carry you along till you get ammo from a Fire Support or the Large Crates.
Hideous recoil (except for Deagle), unstable spread, low firerate and low magazine efficiency.
Then aim better, you shouldn’t be spamming these things.
Aim can’t just compensate for bad weapon accuracy, that’s why I’d much rather have an M9 or Selb since when I’m forced to switch to my secondary I’m usually not in a position to take a coffee break between shots.

Actually it can, it’s called control, stop spamming your gun and accurately place your shots, you’ll be surprised what those guns can do. Sitting there and blaming the gun doesn’t make it so, you can’t control stats. But you can control yourself, so before you sit there and say the Heavy Pistols are trash, take a moment to realize what the entire point of secondary weapons is to begin with. Which is to be a backup to finish or kill 1 single opponent not a whole team of them.
The DE 50 does 20 damage, the Whetsman does 27 and the Siemon does 25, headshots deal double damage, so essentially all you need is 3 headshots and you can kill whoever you need to in a 1 on 1 confrontation. The DE 50 can Skyhammers in 3, the others can kill Fraggers in 3.
It may not seem like much but it sure as hell isn’t garbage, it depends entirely on the user and the decisions they make.

Not mine, but it explains my point

I’m not even saying they’re unusable (though the Caulden and the Simeon come close to that). Just that they’re clearly inferior to the other options since they sacrifice everything for high damage per bullet. Rest assured I can kill with my S&W, I’ve played more than enough Skyhammer, I’d still take an M9 over it any day.

Then stop saying the guns are unreliable, because just because a gun doesn’t fit how you play doesn’t make it fact.
Call me picky but I get really tired of people saying certain guns are unreliable/bad/not worth using when in reality they are actually quite good, it just depends on the user.
Because often times when that happens, I see stuff get buffed that doesn’t need to be, and something that clearly needs a nerf is left untouched. That lowers the skill floor and muddles up the game with bullshit.
Hence why I say the Machine Pistols need a nerf because by comparison, everything else is adequate, they’re essentially psuedo smgs because certain weapons or certain abilities are too hard for the average player to use (shotguns, sniper rifle, revivr, etc)

Uh yeah it’s unreliable when I’m forced to correct every one of my shots because of the Simeon’s weird ass horizontal recoil or time them because of the S&W’s bananas spread or get stuck with the Caulden’s godawful mag capacity whereas with a superior pistol I can rely on it to remain accurate and have more bullets in case I need that extra damage. Sure that webm is cool but he could have done the same with an M9 with less effort and still have ammo for more.
I’d rather see Stoker get SMG primaries instead of assault rifle primaries. Like, the Blishlock, the SMG-9, and the Hochfir.
Reason being that there’s too little diversity in fire support weapons. It’s all assault rifles or nothing.
On a side note, I hate the fact that the Blishlock got a nerfed DPS in favor of less recoil, now it really is the worst SMG in the game because that I can’t just scope in and have more DPS than the M4A1.
Kira seems pretty strong ATM with the burst rifles as good as they are and the low damage/high capacity pistols seem to suit her movement speed well. Hopefully the maps currently in development will have plenty of outdoor areas for Kira and Arty to take advantage of. I wouldn’t mind if a few more laser spots were added to Underground either.
