Kimbo/Dual wield Pistols

(NigelDocker) #61

Yeh every can and we can put it all on the first post to make the devs jobs more easier if they are adding it to brink. And if not maybe they’ll think about doing it lol.

(NigelDocker) #62

It wasnt when they made the trailer

It doesnt haveto be over powering, but balanced and add more veriety and choice to the game. Plus if there’s any game that does Brink really suits it.

Great idea.

Yeah, Brink was kind of made for dual pistols honestly. It would make the game more fun, add more strategy, and most importantly, more choices and variety. That’s the key word VARIETY, and why? Because variety is part of what makes the game fun and Brink is all about variety honestly. There are other elements, but that is a central one no doubt. From the start, variety, customization, uniqueness, and fun. That’s a basic summary of Brink’s make up.

Dual wielding is a cliche. Not a bad one, or a good one. Depends on how it’s executed. Most of the time it’s fun and cool.

(Bittermetal) #66

Honestly, dual wielding never looks as cool in-game as you think it will. Its not very “Chow Yun Fat”. The Godfather of all 2-fisted pistol toting. Always comes off stiff with the arms straight and the same length no matter how the character is facing or positioned.

I know many would like it. I think it could be welcomed by many in BRINK. Just not my bit of crumpet.

(tangoliber) #67

I’d like pistol as a primary… maybe one that is a little more powerful than the secondary pistols…

Obviously everyone likes different things and play differently, but thats the beauty of havin something as simple as dual pistols, you dont haveto use them, your play style may not suit them. But they are there for you if you like them and suits your playstyle, more veriety and choice.

I think they could be in used like a shotgun would gameplay wise, but the shotgun we have now is pretty much usless, having dual pistols would bring a new way of gamplay no1 is using.

(Ultima) #69

Well, it seems it would meld good with Brink. It also depends on your play style as well, but that’s one of the cool things, it would open up a whole other play style to people.

Yes, and it’s not like it’s forced. It will be an ability just like any other, you can choose to have it or not. I’m also assuming if they did have it and you had the ability, there would be some way to turn it on and off depending on how you feel like playing that match or that day.

Dual wielding in KF is pretty cool.

And I remember seeing myself as a bad ass duel wielding for the first time, dual smgs in halo 2.
“You can’t release a crane and drop a security/maintenance bot on someone either.”

I remember, one time, in container city. Being too busy with the fight I didn’t noticed that the engineer repaired the controls, got squished by the maintenance bot.
My fat heavy was squashed flat by the bridge shortcut being lowered on him.

(Spendlove) #73

But yes. Dual pistols as a generic ability. You can turn it on or off with a bindable key. anyone think of a balanced level for it to unlock? Is it compatible with downed fire as that would be cool (see left 4 dead). Everyone agreed that no grenades and no knife balances it out? Will the new bayonet be compatible?

(NigelDocker) #74

I would also like to see some form of crossbow in Brink, just think it suits it, actually I think a CATAPULT suits and would be good in brink lol, dont you think?

(Bittermetal) #75

Now I gotta second you on that crossbow. And raise you some throwing knives (throw one at a time), throwing darts (similar to flinging a bunch of caltrops at someone), throwing stars, tomahawks… I think the rusty bladed weapons bound with duck tape and straps…really fits the Resistance. And just spit shine them with engravings and better grips for Security.

(Ultima) #76

Am I the only one thinking bayonets won’t be for pistols? And what I think would be better is this. You unlock the ability and a new option becomes available in the weapon customization. If you choose to equip a pistol, it will give the option to equip another one, you can choose whether you want to or not. If so, you just equip it and it shows both of your equipped pistols or somehow shows you have dual wield. Sorry, but I don’t want the ability to take up a whole button, especially since it seems like it would be more of a universal and I can’t think of any of those taking up a button. However, there’s another option I can think of. You kill an enemy and can choose to take his weapon so you can dual wield. It’s viable, but I dislike this option as it will make Brink too generic in a way if that happened, I think it being an option in the weapons menu is best. Anyone else have ideas?

(Ultima) #77

You know, I could see poison tipped darts as an Operative ability. Something like this, darts become an actual weapon for everyone to use, but Operatives get a special ability or buff or whatever which is poison tipped. They could do more damage, or maybe damage over time. Anyways, it’s clear people want throwing weapons. I think shurikens and knives would be best if they added them in, maybe tomahawks, but I can’t see them getting added as much as I could other options.

(NigelDocker) #78

Allot of good ideas, rusty throwing stars especially, they could have done so much with brink.
And considering they were trying to be as origional a different as possible and bring something new and fresh to the fps genre why they didnt think or do all this and just use standard guns like all other fps’s I dont know.

really good ideas

(Ultima) #79

Oh, I could see this, look out turrets, here comes a new engineer ability. In all seriousness, I’m pretty sure you’re kidding though.
