Dual shotguns
Kimbo/Dual wield Pistols
āYou canāt release a crane and drop a security/maintenance bot on someone either.ā
I remember, one time, in container city. Being too busy with the fight I didnāt noticed that the engineer repaired the controls, got squished by the maintenance bot.
I agree with YOU. thatās not the way all on this thread are going. It does seem like people are saying the SD lied with the trailer, which is just nonsense.

I remember seeing that happen to a bot and almost happening to me. I swear it landed on my guys toe. Try stopping the bot and using S.M.A.R.T. with a broken foot hah?
Maybe you could outfit the upcoming bayonet on each gun. Now you have two knives and two guns. Lovely!

I remember watching the Halo 2 launch special from Rooster Teeth and Red vs Blue. They basically say āand now we can hold 2 guns!ā āwait, why couldnāt we hold 2 guns before? We have 2 handsā āguess no one thought to tryā. Always makes me laugh
Hmm, seems youāre right, let me edit my last line then. Thatās what most of us are thinking.
I didnāt get the sense that bayonets would go on pistols. Although, if they did and we could do thisā¦imagine the mayhem!
Edit: This also brings up a good point. With bayonets coming out and knifes being the only real incentive to use pistols for any body types other than light, that would make pistols almost obsolete in a sense. Adding dual pistols would be a great way to counter this and add more incentive.
Yes but I dont know another trailer for a game that uses and puts emphasis on something like having a different weapon thats not in the actuall game, or just simply using dual weaponās when you cant. It would be simple to not include that if its not in the actual game unless your trying to make it look as cool as possible by missleading people.
It is very missleading, and I dont know of any other cinematics for a game that do a thing such as this. Im not talking about how it looks or how people move but content of the game. I dont know any other that does an example of this.
But we can hope we get it, because its clear people want it.

Oh screw this; Dear Splash Damage, I want āDual-Wield pistolā, āoperative shurikensā, āgrappling hookā AND āoperative katana melee-upgradeā for new abilities. With ninja outfit to go with it!

In my opinion, they most likely made that trailer at a time when dual pistols either were included or were meant to be. They probably dropped them later on. This is the most likely case, although you never know since they would have had the game finished by the time the commercials showed up. I think picking this trailer as a commercial may have been a little misleading, unless they intend to add it in again later, which Iām hoping is the case. Still seems misleading to have it aired on t.v. knowing that they arenāt actually in the product as of right now. But hey, Iām not bashing Beth or SD or defending them, and I donāt want it to appear that way because Iām pretty neutral as far as that goes. As long as they continue to add on to this amazing game, then Iām happy with them.

bump +1
I would really like some sort of throwing bladed weapon for silent distance attacks. one of the reasons I LOVE the tomahawk in BLOPS. Metro 2033 throwing knives are nice too. Stab or throw them.
You could be right. Because I posted that video of Brink over a year ago. http://evga.com/gaming/?p=716

Haha, so it appears you just want a full on ninja right? It would fit the Operative, and I could imagine it coming as DLC. A Ninja Pack with different Ninja Outfits for Sec and Resistance, but now weāre getting a little ahead of ourselves. First, letās focus on the dual pistols.
Although shurikens would be a nice add and would add some interesting factors.
ā¦with lasers. just kidding. Wellā¦ninja laser, whatever the hell those are.
Yeah, since itās a pretty old video actually, Iām pretty sure thatās how it was. I know that in one point of development they had to at least consider dual wield, I mean someone had to bring it up right?
You know, I think games just plain shouldnāt be advertised with trailers. Trailers are for movies, not games. Give me a gameplay video so I can see how playing the game looks like.* Or even better, a demo.
Trailers for games indicate Hollywood-like thinking: that a game should be about looks first. Good-looking action scenes. Not interesting actions, decisions, challenges. I will play a bad-looking game if itās fun. I will quickly grow bored with an awesome-looking if itās shallow. Cinematic games are not to be enjoyed for a period of time, they are to be consumed. Initial sales are more imporrtant than lasting value.
At least in movies, trailers are composed of actual movie scenes. Game trailers are unique in that they may contain situations not actually present in the game !
- Exception: games with very heavy story and usually no replay value
