It basically comes down to the old ET medic dilemma, do you go for the kill or the revive?
Most people would probably say revive, but thats not always whats best. It really depends on the situation. Same with any objective based game. Theres a risk-reward factor in both choices.
In BRINK there will be opportunities to go for kills, there will also be necessity to focus on objective and sacrifice yourself.
Sometimes the “pro” thing to do is actually surprising your opponent with a ninja plant or defuse.

Both are important because the player who kills several enemies on his own will eventually require ammo to keep the enemies at bay of the location where he’s fighting at.
However, the player who kills many enemies can also just walk around the map doing killing streaks by resupplying at command posts, but this tactic does not stop the enemy from moving forward towards objective, so it might be a tactic that will lead to defeat.
Kill streaks give victory if the teams are stacked (unbalanced due to all good players on 1 side). I’ tired of seeing people playing for a good kdr and ending all rounds losing . . .
War (objective based fps games) is about casualties, resupplying and conquering/denying territory.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a lemming or not. Attempting an objective will lower your kill / death ratio. It doesn’t matter that you think your team has cleared the objective area. If you’re on an objective, you are exactly where the enemy expects you to be and will be the top priority when they re-enter.
