It’s called “Punk Buster” and if it’s kicking all you whiney bitches, it’s obviously working.

They issued a new Punkbuster version to fix this issue:

Version 1.039 of the PB Client for ET has been released to our PB Master Servers for auto-update and to our website download page. Version 1.038 released yesterday contained new built-in checks for some cheat protected cvars which triggered several #20005 violations. It has been discovered that some of these players had trailing spaces in the cheat protected cvars for some reason thus setting off violation #20005. We encourage PB Admins to give players the benefit of the doubt and ignore any #20005 violations that occurred while running with PB Client v1.038.

BTW: I had this error too and never added any trailing spaces intentionally, so I guess Punkbuster or ET added them somehow.
