- vote called against player X
- player X disconnected (something about “msg overflow”)
- player Y joins
- enough people voted yes
- player Y got kicked
lets see if i can can explain this corectly…
the vote was called via player number. lets say player X is #16. he crashed/left after the vote was called. Player Y joins and takes X’s Player number (#16). The vote passes and the game kicks player number #16. unforunately, player Y is #16 so he gets the boot (game doesn’t know any better).
I don’t know much about it, but i think that sounds right. maybe someone else can explain it better.
Yeah, that’s what I figured too. The easy solution would be votes being aborted as soon as a player leaves the server I guess.
I assume we are talking about pb_kick, and not the voting mechanism, correct?
In that case, the pb_kick points that are acquired before and while the slot are empty should disappear. However, some people may have delayed their filing of pb_points until after the new player joined (not noticing the other guy was gone). The poor new guy starts getting points and may even get kicked. Poor new guy.
Unfortunately, there is no real way around that except greater care taken by those that are filing complaints using pb_kick.
If you are talking about the in-game voting mechanism… uhh… I dunno.
