I used to bind the mouse wheel (mx500) to zoom the compass in and out, but now I use it to execute the long/short distance files. I prefer to zoom the compass with a wheel, so I figured I could use the one on my Logitech keyboard. If it’s even possible, what bind variables should I use?
Keyboard wheel bindable?
Hrms, strange.
Obv the keybind eg, mwheelup isn’t in the code BUT there may be a way round it. Check your control panel and keyboard settings for it (making sure logitech drivers are installed). There MAY be a setup for what each button does… so, you can say, make the keyboard wheel be F2 so when you hit it, it would like the F2 key, eg, rename. By doing this you can just make it be 2 keys you dont use and bind them. So, bind x +attack and if you had the keyboard wheel up to act as x key then technically keyboard wheel up = x/+attack… if it makes sense.
Should only work if you can do this mind
I know I can on my MS Infrared Keyboard/Mouse with ALL and ANY key.
I doubt it’s possible unless you can assign the keyboard wheel up and down to other keyboard keys.
For example, if the keyboard software allowed you to assign wheel up to, say, PGUP, and wheel down to PGDN, you could bind functions to PGUP and PGDN in ET and they’d execute when you used the keyboard wheel. But you’re not going to do it any other way as ET won’t recognise the keyboard wheel up / down as a valid bindable keys.
edit: Piggy got there 1st
Yup! I admit it… im an addict.
Nah, just too slow Kendle hun… :] Was on me tea break too
With that keyboard and NO logitech drivers installed the keyboard scroll thing acts as UPARROW and DOWNARROW.
Correct, although very slow (bind uparrow/downarrow to +forward/+back and use that kb wheel to move; it’s slow as hell), but should be perfect for your compass idea. So, just bind your compass zoom to the arrow keys (up/down). Also fwiw, pressing the kb wheel down acts as the “u” key.
