Keeping my stats

Can anyone tell me how you carry over your stats you have built up from game to game? Or do you have to start from private every time you load up?

well tehre are lots of ways now-a-days
1 - you start from 0 whenever u join a server
2 - on soem servers if u disconnect and recoonect within the same map, you have the same xp as when you left
3 - some servers have xp reset back to 0 every so often, otehrs dont. but when u disconnect you lsoe xp, except in case 2 above
4 - this is new i think, some servers carry stats over via a website so when you leave it saves it. i might have interpreted this one wrong, but thats the impression that i got from the guys explanation.

bottom line is yes, you will always have to restart from 0 when u join a server.

This isn’t quite true. On etpro with statsaver you can get your XP if the campaign hasn’t changed since you left. I’m pretty sure shrub XP does a similar thing.
