ok i tried that console thing~ and this is what it says…

server disconected for unkown reasonPunkbuster. not connected to a server

can any one explain that?

I tried this on a few different servers and it says the same thing every time.

What version of ET are you using ?

versions before 2.60 had a habit of saying “unknown reason” for everything.

pretty sure I am using version 2.55
To solve my problems I tried deleting my version of ET and downloaded the game again and reinstalled it. So the version I just got is 2.55. Where do I get a newer one? If that is my problem. Sorry noob here but I have played this game for years and never had this problem.

2.55 may not be your problem, but it does have a lot of bugs, and the broken error message makes it very hard to tell what the real problem is.

first of all thanx for the help. This noob really appreciates it. So this is what happens now after I got 2.6 and updated pb. I get this error message

I have no idea what that means, and I tried to play on several servers and got the same message.

A google or forum search for “blocked O/S privlages” should give you a place to start, this is a pretty common problem. Make sure you are running with an administrator account.

blocked often means VX2 virus, do a google for the removal tool

I haven’t checked the logs because it appears your problem was that you were using the wrong version.

As for blocked priviledges, here’s what PB has to say about it:

Please temporarily disable other security type programs you have running such as anti-virus, process guard, SDProtector, etc. to find out which of them is blocking PB’s access to resources on your computer. You either need to run PB without the blocking program(s) or play on non-PB servers. Also make sure you run the game under an Administrator or equivalent account under Windows. If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select “Run As”. This will allow you to give admin access to that program and should allow you to play with a limited user.

According to that same page, VX2 would cause insufficient priviledges, not blocked.

Your case is almost surely due to either not being logged in as an administrator, or you have something like ProcessGuard installed.
