ive since been informed that the k43/garand issue was “overlooked” which i interpret to mean it was mistakenly left unbalanced by the developers and may eventually be fixed.
k43 vs garand - fair?
K43/Garand fair? :eek2:
It’s in no way fair and stinks big time.
As CovOps I seldome want to go without a ‘real’ sniper and the Axis are blessed with the really good K43,
great for sniping and easily as good for surprise attacks on close range.
Then how FFS can it be balanced that the Allies are cursed with the on close range piss poor Garand?
When playing Allied CO as I commonly find myself fighting (and dying) with pistol or knife on short range.
It’s suicide to start close combat with a half empty clip
and its as foolish to fire half my ammo into the air to reload, just to be ready in case someone comes around the next corner.
:banghead:
yeah if you’re using them for an assault weapon then you’re not doing your job and picking hte wrong class[/quote]
Unless you’re an engie. I much prefer the Garand’s power allied to the nade launcher. I rack up more kills as a side effect in a skirmish (the extra power often means you get the kill). The nades can also be invaluable for clearing corridors/corners/people hiding behind trees/damaging tanks/taking out mg nests.
Downsides are the implausible innaccuracy - I’d rather see more recoil and better accuracy. To even things up accuracy should go to shit when running.
Strangely, and I have no empirical proof, I reckon the nade may be more accurate than the bullet. I say this because I have certain places around the map where I can line up my sights on foliage etc and launch nades through windows or the like. Money shot every time.
Oh yeah back OT - I do think it’s fair - because that’s the way it was.
Nades are perfectly accurate. It would kind of suck if they weren’t, since you might aim for a window, bounce it off, and kill a teammate. We wouldn’t want that.
But in reality its cr@p. Nades should fly all over the place. If you’re daft enuff to launch one in the vicinity of team mates then you should be prepared for the consequences.
The more I play with the Garand the more I like it but the more the innaccuracy bugs me.
The pistol is more accurate FFS. :???:
