Hello all good people, I’m a bit old scholl so explain your Ideas in easy to understand terms so i can do what you say to do to fix this CAN NOT CONNECT TO SERVER? I just downloaded the woflenstein E.T. today and I did everything right on accepting ET and punckbuster when you 1st time start up the game. Then when I wanted to play a game I would go to any game room and it downloads everything then a small window opens and says server failure can not connect try again yes or no. I choose yes but same window opens can not connet to server. Then I tried to starta game myself and it did its game download then I could play by my self for 10 mins then server disconneted. I have windows vista home premium 32 bit, dual core at 2Ghz, 2 Gbs ram and my firewall is letting through both punkbusters and the new ET are ok. I don’t know if I have to do this update to 2.60b. I don’t know which version I have? Can you tell me how to see which version I downloaed today? And where do I go to get this new 2.60b patch and I understand from reading I need to make sure 2.60 is apllied befor doing 2.60b? PLZ help its so fustrating not being able to play the game like I’m suppoed to be able to just open it up and choose a room and get in to play? sorry this is so long.
Just downloaded Wolf E.T. and can't stay connected to game servers? Help?
I just read the system req. and it says windows XP and gforce and radon graphics cards. I have intel card that plays the other online combat games I play fine after downloading from the thier websites. I can connet to all the game servers and p[lay games ok. I hope I can play wolf E.T. with vista home premium 32 bit 2.oGhz CPUs and 2 Gb ram and directX10 on my computer. I hope some will take the time to tell me where to look for which version I just downloaded and where to go to get updates and patches to the newest 2.60b I read here? And what can I do to get connected to game servers and stay connected. I have 1.5mbs DSL router which is fast enought for all my online games. Thanks for the help?!!
… quite simple
go into your “wolfenstein - enemy territory” folder
right-click on et.exe (then choose properties)
you have to check Windows XP-compatibility
and run as Administrator …
done 
now you should be able to stay longer then 10 mins on a server

I found ET in the wolf folder and rt clicked and cked run as wxp sp2 and run as administartor ( I run as administrator on my vista all the time but I cked it anyway)… I have not tried connecting yet but where do I find which version I have just downloaed from filefront.com.?? I think I saw its 1.0. so How do I get up to the newest 2.60 and 2.60b so the game will work better?? where is the web site to do these updates? and hoe do I find which version I’m runing now?
Nop such luck for me ET.exe stopes working after a few min. in the game and IE stops and then I have to click closed and the game goes back to my desktop window. SO now what do I do to play in the games?? and I found by clicking on games I see the 2.60 amd 2.60b updates there with links to download them should I do that? and how do I find which version do I have? I’m a bit ols school so I have to ask these ?'s. and thanks for any and all answers.
thanks for the answer but I read here that I should make sure I download 2.60 befor 2.60b So I really still don’t know what version I have, no seams to know to tell me where to look and then see if I need both of those updates. ?? Thx for all the good answers
Launch the game, host a game, when you are inside your own server, press esc, click server info, in there you see your version.
Or
Launch the game, click the button left from “1” to open up the console, find the information from there. Also it is displayed for the very first second you click your ET, but the first window doesn’t last for long (it has also the info and is easy to read).

After I find the version I just downloaded, and if its not 2.60 and then 2.60b should I download those updates to make the game seam better or play better? or just leave the version I have alone or do updates? Well the updates would not be there if wolf ET did not think they were important to download both right? Thanks for a the great answers.
I found out I am running ET 2.55 win-x86 MAY. Game the games I can get into are alittle choppy in the game. So If I do the update 2.60 then do 2.60b will the games play better?? Or should I stay at et 2.55?? Thanks for all the answers. 1st time here at this game and will learn from you guys thx.
I click on the links here to do both updates and the page goes to fileshack.com and the I signed up for am acct and then click in stall 2.60 patch and when I click download now a window opens and says Windows does not reconize MIME type file and application/x-msdos-program. So I can’t download this 2005 patch and I tried 2.60b and same this windows does not reconizes MIME type file. So how do I download these patches now?? Its so fustarting your links goes to fileshack and then my vista windows does not reconize the update and wont let me do either?? now what??
thanks for the links for 2.60 and 2.60b. I can’t imagine Id or splashdamage has not had to do a update since 2005 and 2006 for wolf ET 2.55. So I does that mean wolf ET has not had any problems with the game softwear since last update 2.60b. Did you install the updates on your computer?? The reason I ask is at end of your last reply it says wolf ET 2.55? Thanks again for all the help. And I can get into and play in some of the games with version 2.55 now But some games I can’t get into at all. I don’t understand why I can play in some game servers but not other game servers?? With client version 2.55 you are only able to play on servers with version 2.55.
But you can’t play with client version 2.55 on servers with version 2.60 / 2.60b.
I was fustrated why i could not get into most of the games and only a few of them and now I find out I can only play 2.55 server games and not the 2.60 or 2.60b. So It looks like I will have to update because, I think there are more games at 2.60 and 2.60b than2.55 right. I know its aoled game but did not know there would be so much trouble to get in to play? I hope the links you gave me to do the updates will work for me better when I want to play agame. Thx again for all you tech guys for helping me understand.
Hey, I got little a bit same kind of a problem. If U guys know, please help. I have played ET for a few years. And it has worked fine. I got new computer Windows Vista, Acer’s laptop, but i dont think it really counts coz I have played ET on this computer earlier and it worket. BUT… Now, when I go and play ET, and go inside no matter what server, it always kicks me out inside 10 sec - 15 min. Its just kicks out and calls (Server disconnected for a unknow reason). Everytime. So do u have even a little clue that what the hell is matter with it? Is it something wrong with the PB or something? Please reply and help. Thanks!
