Had an email from Game:

Thank you for the following order placed with GAME.

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Premium Edition has changed to June-2007. Changes to release dates are relatively common in the videogames industry and are unfortunately beyond our control.

Don’t worry, your order is still live and will be despatched prior to its release date via your chosen method of delivery.

Well, if Game says it’s june then it must be true, all we have to do now is inform SD

Maybe we should atleast wait till they announce a demo/beta untill we can speculate about release

Doesn’t sound definitive - it was May 25th before, this could keep on changing…

When I ordered on EBgames, the guy said I could pick up the game on June 16th. Because that date is a date when the game probably be out for a week or so, so the guy just predicts the release date, and add a week or two to it.

If it isn’t released by then, I will be furious. It is either the beta testers aren’t doing their job, or the game is seriously bugged.

there probadly setting all the server structure up at the mo and making sure that works, then they’ll release a public beta to see how the servers cope with a real load

I would rather think of your EB-games storeholder as a lousy clairvoyant instead of blaming SD for not releasing the game by then.

It will be released by June as long as SD does not have to do that much regression testing. And nothing should be added, or taken away from the game. It is basically too late to add stuff or take away stuff now. Otherwise the release date, whenever it may be, would be pushed way back.

My question is:

if these games shops and places GameSpy and others are saying the game will be released in June then what not believe it? Is Activision & Splash Damage giving these retailers and websites misinformation to its retailers so the retailers can publish release dates just to sell per-orders? :?

If not… then where are they getting the misinformation :?

From the same place I told you before: their own mind. All these game shops just make a guess, which has proven to be wrong time after time.

Activision will probably not release any info other than “when it’s done” or they might shoot themselves in the foot. :nag:
