It's time

So what? We should rename all mods, projects, etc. containing Wolfentein word? Dude, this is non-commercial project first of all. I think this can count as “fair-use”. We not trying to sell something using Wolfenstein name.Bethesda and Zenimax does not care until we don’t recieve any profit from their trademark. They will not waste their time on this.

P.S. Now you calling me ignorant through rep points. What so ignorant about it? You really think that Zenimax gives a single **** about non-commercial git project which contains custom assets for a game which was released 15 years ago? I’m telling from my experience with copyright. Usually, companies does not care about using their IP until you monetize it in some way. There is no point in absolute copyright.
There can be some problems if they will create something with a similar name(Wolfenstein Legacy), but nobody even knows about this git project. Only some part of the ET (RTCW) mod community is aware of its existence. It is created for mod/map developers. I doubt Zenimax/Bethesda/ID will ever be aware of this project. They are so far from their own community.

Just turn off the rep points in the user control panel. The system is sometimes abused on this forum anyway…

I agree with WolfETPlayer. It’s perfectly fine to have the franchise name in the project, as long as nobody profits from it.

I think you both have a point. The rightful owners of this RTCW trademark do likely care about 2 points, 1st that nobody makes profit with their trademark and 2nd that nobody ruins the reputation (and thus financial value) of this trademark by a 3rd party product. Wheres point 1 is ruled out, point 2 is up for discussion. I personally believe the value of the trademark RTCW gained substantially by folks like us who invest our free time to keep the game attractive for people. So I strongly believe that using this official name is also in the interest of the the rightful owner of the trademark. But admittedly, the final decision to decide this is not up to us to judge, so Dragonji played the “better safe than sorry” card and you the “better ask for forgiveness than for permission” card. Which one a person likes better is purely religion so lets all relax and lets continue making awesome mods and maps

I fixed this reputation thinggy as well : )

I can’t get ET Legacy to work. It freeze as soon as as the game is launched. Don’t know why? Maybe graphic card related?
