it's a shame you can't max all the classes with one character...

I was about to say you’d end up with less diversity but actually it seems like a lot of people just choose the same things.

Not a fan of a skill tree system, as inevitably a skill A_Random_Player_1 wants which fits their playstyle is hidden behind a skill that’s utterly useless to them.

I’m a fan of the current skills system… it makes you choose. Heaven forbid we as gamers are required to commit to our decisions.

Personally, all my characters are dual-class. You can apply 80% of all skills in two classes and the universals, which should make you more than viable in any given battle. Sure, as the other two classes you might be “insufficient”… but that’s what you have teammates for.

I’ve never found switching classes purely to do an objective all that bad though, even when you have no skills put into it. You don’t really need all of the extra abilities when you are just going to be focusing on hacking or repairing.

For the other two, i have yet to see a team completely lacking in soldiers or medics.

I agree. If you’re willing, you can get the objective done just by switching at a command post. The in-between stuff is where the abilities come in to play and getting to the objective.

Malus is the opposite of bonus. A negativ bonus.

Quite common in german and I would have thought its latin/greek and used in english like bonus too. Guess the writer and I were wrong.

It is technically considered to be an English word as well, but its more or less Archaic and only used in legal-speak.

Malice uses the same latin root word, and has a similar meaning, but it actually means the desire to inflict an injury, rather than a term for the injury itself. If you use the term ‘Malus’ on an English board, it will most likely be mistaken for ‘Malice’

i actually don’t like it the way it is.

my first character was a maxed out engineer because it gives me more to do and i had a lot of fun. now i’ve created other specialised characters and i’m just not having as much fun and changing to another underpowered class you have no abilities for, to complete objectives or adapt to a certain situation just doesn’t seem fun and is kinda a chore.

i would have preferred it if they let me create characters in a single class with the basic abilities, all the other abilities are universal and you can create unique characters with cross class abilities. i also think you should be able to change between your created characters at command posts instead of classes. so you can change between unique light, medium or heavy characters you created. it rewards people who replay the game and come back to create more characters

Then you could run a light in behind enemy lines and have a heavy with a minigun shooting everyone in the back. Not balanced.

I just wish you could change character/bodytype in between maps or even rounds. I hate that if I want to change to light I have to leave the server go change then come back then I might have to wait to get back in the server due to being full or if I had a friend I was playing with getting back on their team. I understand they wanted people to have reason to make new characters and choose abilities wisely but having to leave a server to change can be annoying. In the end i chose to just make one character that is well rounded and spreads the abilities out over all characters for general gameplay as I tend to change to whatever the main objective is via command posts.

(its al bout security) #50

seems counter intuative to the point to max all classes, thats why there are hybrids and pures yes??

balance is the key, meditate on that

(ED209) #51

I have my fully optioned med, my soldier/medic and engy/medic. If you had the uber clas, why have mo than one char?

(Jess Alon) #52

In between rounds is reasonable. But it wouldn’t be fair to be able to switch whole bodytypes and characters at command posts.

(Je T´aime) #53

the problem with the current system is that people will only play the classes theyr maxed out, im against maxing all with 1 caracter , but it should be possible to change your caracter in comand posts or between rounds as sugested instead of rejoining the server all the times.

(DRiP) #54

should be able to change characters when u die, and re-spawn as one of ur other characters.

Thanks for explaining this! Great to acquire this kind of knowledge on the fly

And thus make every choice you can make in this game completely meaningless.
