It finally happened.....

Playing on RtCW as a medic on beach when I suddenly got an XP pang - wot no XP!!!??!!! Then I knew the day had finally come - I’ve got so used to ET now that I actually prefer it to RtCW - sheesh - If I’d realised right from the start that my lag was mainly FPS lag and al I had to do was tweak a bit and run ET in a window then non of this would happened.

I take it all back - I played all night last night on four different servers with a 56k modem and experienced trivial lag - yes that’s right, trivial. The only other thing I’ve done is make my firewall a little more aggresive about responding to sniffs and altered my MTU setting and now ET is really good fun to play.

You know, bottom line is this for me - if I get on a server and a group of people who really do know what their doing team up, then the XP stuff is brilliant - me and this guy setup on the corner of the Allied spawn after they’d got the tank in Oasis - me as a four star med - him a four star FO - man we raped the Allies as they tried to get past us and make for the tank - laying down med packs and ammo out of reach of the enemy yet perfectly placed for a sprint dash when things were getting hot and a refill was needed.

This game is jam - toast and jam with a hot cup of coffee .

*edit I’ve changed my Tag name for ET - I’m playing now as Wolfplayer - it amuses me…

ummmmm … are you talking about enemy territory? as you referred to a tank in oasis? either you mean anti-tank but then you say after they got the (anti?) tank we spawn raped them so can’t be that so errr you mean fueldump?

The parked one, the burning one and the one riding at the end when the guns are destoyed :wink:

I haven’t been to bed yet so I apologise if I’m getting things wrong - yup, I meant Goldrush - doh!

Kendle - I used to think that about XP, but you know, in RtCW it isn’t so realistic a propersition to have a medic and a Lt hold off 4 or 5 invaders repeatedly for ten minutes without proper cover, with ET and XP it is, but because the maps are very clever, there’s always another way to either bypass the enemy or approach from another angle, maybe catching them off-guard.

No, I like XP when it is used by people who know how to play the game properly - I 'm not an XP whore - if I get four stars against my class before battlesense or weapons skill then it’s because I’m reviving ppl and keeping my team mates alive - I like upgrades.
