No, not developed. At least not officially. But there are some independend groups developing still today.

How popular ? Well, around 2, 3 years or so ET was still under top 5 most frequently online played games Today there exist around 1000 servers and if you search right, you can find servers suitable for you.

Check this site for stats (serverlist for example for finding a server): http://et.splatterladder.com/. This way you can see stats without the game installed.

Maybe someone can post some more detailed stats about player activity (i would be interested also)

Yes, it is being developed. Recent developements include et:Xreal (not currently in active developement, enhanced renderer), Openwolf (continuation of et:Xreal) and et-legacy (continuation of original source.)

There is also a mod for ETQW in development, called Wolf:ET.

There are also still development of mods happening for ET, but their developers mostly keep the source secret (and refuse to move to GPL), and as such are not worth any consideration.

I guess he wanted to know if it is developed officially, and that is clear no-answer. Splash Damage does not develop the game anymore. But k, repeating things precisely doesn’t make the pie brighter, uhm :rolleyes:

It is not being developed at all anymore. The latest official version is 2.60b and you will not get any updates anymore at all.

The only stuff you will receive automatically by connecting to a server are the mods/modifications which are different from eachother and can include fixes and enhancements/extras etc BUT can also mess up the standard menus.

The people involved in the source code have made threads on these forums and post the news, or link their git.

By this way you can receive by mail any news or from here or from gits.

I would like to follow almost all, but I rarely find which is the button to receive mails… Just found the one for Gtk 1.6, I think I’m subscribed to OpenWolf, dunno about Legacy…
