I finally bought him today, I don’t like playing snipers that much so I mostly stuck with Redeye. But I wanted to give moa and felix a try, so I went for it and bought him. I don’t like to brag, but I’m not that terrible of a sniper, I was doing pretty good in fact in my first game, top scoring with pretty high leveled team. Until people just started kicking me for no reason, and it finally passed too. No, I wasn’t being one of “those” snipers, I was actually getting in there too, I even defused the C4 by myself one time. Does Vassili really have that kind of stigma?

This may be a bit of an extreme case, but the sad truth is that you are correct. Vassili has always been seen negatively by pub players: Either you are bad waste or you are a cheater. Can’t be no middleground.

First of all, congratulations for joining a game where you actually got to play Vasilli,because your team hopefully didn’t have three other ones. 
And yes, it’s absolutely horrible to play him, because you either feel bad for sucking because you’re still learning him or using him even though you could help your team better with your main merc.
I have yet to figure out when to play him. not how, WHEN.

As much as I try to be a nice player I get that Impulse of hate when I see a Vasili 
but I usually calm down and be like meh someone’s trying to practice let them be. It’s not like win missions exist so I don’t get as triggered as I used to.

I don’t see any reason for being kicked for using Vassili. Is must DB players from cs:go and consider that Vassili sniper same as the “awp” , “one shot one kill” weapon.

Yes apparently. Although I haven’t met any toxic players in a while (although I still spam chat with rage when random lag happens and I miss my sniper shot), I remember before people being sarcastic on the mic about having Vassilis and them being useless. Now with the jumpshot nerf (with the addition of instagib removal which I thought made quite some sense so I don’t have a problem with that), Vassili is almost rendered useless against experienced players with no element of surprise.

Can’t remember their names, but there is a couple who both play Vassili together.
I know one of them is really itching to see Amie come out for their guy/girl sniper combo dream team.
I’m sure someone here knows who I’m talking about, sorry I can’t remember your names.
Anyway, they are pretty damn great snipers.
EDIT: I’ve love to know their sniper rifle accuracy hit rate %.

Only duo, playing Vassili I know was when I was like lvl 5-10, I remember someone called Lt. Sch… (something) and his friend named Bolosmaster or something, can’t remember their names… I remember they both had obsidian Vassilis and were both playing Vassilis, top scoring. I haven’t seen them in game for long time though, I mean ever since… 
And yeah, besides those two, Jaeger and newb, I haven’t seen much great Vassilis

You can’t tell me you’ve only seen one good Vassili in 600 hours?
I’ve seen quite a few, a lot of them in level 10+ servers where they were holding off an entire area or preventing a team from defusing. A Vassili with over 20 kills and few deaths (in objective) is a good one in my opinion. At least, most of the time anyways. This normally means he’s doing his job and getting lots of kills. But if he’s not throwing out his heartbeat sensor, then I hate him.
I play Vassili on occasion if my team has a couple medics and engis already. I tend to focus on spotting, wounding, and finishing off enemies because my aim isn’t amazing yet. I do have some games where I just get headshot after headshot after headshot though.
More on topic: I’ve had more than one team try to vote kick me for playing Vassili as soon as I joined a game (no vassilis already on the team, and enough medics/engis). This is especially prominent in Execution. If they try to vote kick me, depending on my mood, I’ll either just not give a shit and go run in and die for fun, or go tryhard and prove them wrong!

So I think some cases it might not even be that you are playing Vassili but that people are just dumb.
That being said… the other times it totally IS because you are playing Vassili…

People are just really used to the shitty Vasilli kids.Had this one guy who was like ‘‘Vasilli is a noob merc and only noobs play him and so is Phantom’’ , while he plays Rhino.People have this mentality that there are certain ‘‘noob mercs’’ that should never be played.

I got kicked 2 times for playing Nader, once for playing as Proxy. The only merc from my squad that never gets hate is Sawbonez (come on everybody loves Sawbonez). Although in that case it can happen that teammates are complaining about me not reviving them. “Look, guys I can’t be verywhere all the time, if there are 2 people waiting for a revive on one side of the map and 1 on the other side, I’ll have to make a choice where to go first!” => this usually happens when I’m the only medic in an 8 player team…
As for Vassili, yes a lot of people just hate on you for playing him. In my 120 hours of gametime, I’ve used him for 8 minutes… 8 minutes!!! And even I got hate from other players even though I was the only sniper in our team on defense, I had a K/D of 5/2 and was dropping my sensor as much as I could.
Personally I don’t hate him. the only thing I really hate is when my team decides that 3 (or even more) out of 7 players have to be Vassili. 1 or (2 snipers in a team of 8 players) can be really useful but 3 is a bit much when you are on offense…
