Is there anyone intentionally using cards under cobalts, just for own cosmetic preference?

I do have cobalt shard for Thunder’s Timik loadout with good option(the one with Unshakeable and Spares) right now, but I just don’t use it. I think Shard’s gun is way too blue and shiny, that makes gun look like a toy gun or something.

Imo, I sometimes do think Bronze, Silver Urban, and Gold Swiss Red or Crown is better than higher rarity.

for example, I think Bronze’s Woodland suits Thunder most, because his default color is green.

I also had this Gold Bamboo Arty’s Dreiss loadout, but I just used it for trade-up, and using Silver Urban with exact same option.(This part is 100% my opinion, so you can always disagree, but I REALLY hate bamboo. It is the most un-fitting skin type for FPS game…)

Also grinded Gold crown Red Eye for same reason. Using Bronze just for Woodland.

Just my thought, but most cobalt-suitable merc I think, is Phoenix! his default color is blue, and Phoenix’s Cobalt Fragment was the BEST imo. Dat blue helmet though… so awesome.

So is there anyone like me?

p.s. Little bit out of the topic, but I think getting Swiss-Red is the hardest thing when you trade up. Not about credits or cards needed, but the possibility… Shard and Fragment is 50%, but Swiss-Red is 33%!

May be it’s because Swiss-Red is way too awesome… but I still think its quite not fair.Remove the damn Bamboo, then I’ll get 50%!! Just kidding.

But everytime I make Golds, I get these Bamboos… I don’t know why…

I’d trade you for that Thunder if trading was out. I love shard. But I use golds and cobalts.

I love shard rarity, the blue is really beautiful. I don’t think i’ll play some other rarity when i have that one available. But i would play swiss over a cobalt fragment because i don’t really like fragment rarity.

I agree on different mercs fitting different skins best, espacially Phoenix and cobalt.
He’s my first and so far only cobalt, that blue helmet <3 also kek with extra supplies

No idea which mercs gets the next cobalt, already on 3 tradeable golds, thought about trade-in, but 3 for 1 it’s just … no.
I’d take a cobalt Proxy but everything else than KE12 would make me insane.
Same with gold Aura, Blish and double time. But no already crafted 8 gold shotgun Auras/Proxys :frowning:

I also think carbon silver fits almost every merc and I’m getting this variant like 3/4 of the time.

ps: Bamboo is awesome :slight_smile: Crown however…

edit: On my x th Aura gold trade up I finally got an BL81, not the double time one, but its a start :slight_smile: Bamboo btw.

I dislike both Cobalt skins and Swiss-Red and intentionally use Crown or Bamboo.

I do like Silver skins overall, so it’s possible that one day I decide to switch from a Cobalt skin to a Silver skin.

I have a Shard Cobalt loadout for Sawbonez that I always pick, but it’s mainly because it’s my best loadout. If I get it in Silver one day I might want to switch between the two. If I get the same in Fragment though, I’ll never take it away. I like Fragment way too much.

@cornJester Got any Gold swiss reds or Silver Urban? I got like four Shards that I don’t like. I do respect your preference, and I really want to trade if the system comes out!

@DMaster2 Hmm… I see. I actually do prefer the Shard skin for body parts, but for me, weapon is just meh… I do respect your preference though.

@S3nf you just GOT THAT RIGHT. Fragment Cobalt Phoenix’s helmet is made out of pure awesomeness! I do have Fragment Phoenix Kek-10 card with Extra Suppy, but with the Bomb squad one… I really want to get one with Drilled and Healing reach, or Extra Supply with Quick Draw, IF I get the Fragment Kek again…

Well, about Crown, I think its way better than Bamboo for me. My opinion as always, but I just don’t think bamboos match the battlefield, and those really reminds me of Japan(I fxxking hate Japan, because I’m South Korean. Just because of painful history back then…Japan is such a dick.). Anyway, Crown’s blinging greenish-gold and those shapes on bodies are not good as Swiss Red, but better than bamboo for me. Crown’s guns are quite good I think.

@Maggot I really wish SD would change the first-person view hands too. Too bad all loadouts use default hands in-game… I really want to see the Silver Urban hands in my screen.

@Jostabeere You do have unique preference! I would use Crown for sure, but I would only use the Bamboo’s gun. I’m sure that wooden stock makes the gun antique. Best fit to our oldman Red Eye’s Garand M1 imo.

@Eox Which one do you like more? I prefer Urban more because it looks very modern with urban mosaic camo, but also think Carbon’s black, well-polished gun is also great.

I’d say I like both more or less equally. It’ll depend of the merc. On Fletcher I prefer Urban. On Kira I prefer Carbon.

I often use lower tier cards because they have better modifiers. And I do like some of the skins more.

I think if they add trading to the game it should come with a big update adding tons of skins, similar to the Arms Deal update for CS back in the day, and the similar update that happened to Tf2 a few months ago.

Cards would obviously just be the rarity of the skins as they are now, the skins don’t necessarily have to fit with the colour. I think we need some actual fun designs like they do with CS. Rather than just patterns and such, some actual images in the designs.

Examples:

Skins like these really add a lot of individuallity and makes people feel like this is their weapon.

Due to the fact they went with a card system creating this sort of individuality may be difficult without a whole overhaul, but who knows. If they add enough different combos of skins for every tier of card people could get this feeling? Somehow adding naming too maybe? Dunno.

Honestly, I see the rarities as sort of status, so I feel odd if I’m using anything but the highest rarity for a merc, even if it’s a weapon/card I dislike, it doesn’t feel right too me.

Or I could just be extremely shallow, that too

i dont own any golds that id want to use so im playing with silver or bronze since 500h.

i do like iron quite a bit though as it blends well and the camo is quite nice.
i use irons cause i cant afford getting every bronze card for all mercs and because some cards that i prefer using have a 3rd slot trash augment such as flying pig or cool.

I have cobalt Phantom loadout as well, but in my eyes that black/red skin looks so much better on Phantom. B)
Otherwise Phoenix and Vasilli got both different cobalts.
I like it how my weapons have different colors, depending with which merc I play with.

Umm… I get all the parts, but I have to say flying pig is definitely good option since it got long jump distance +10% buff, and flying pig helps you a lot whenever you escape with low HP. Slight fall damage that stops your HP regen is quite bigger than you think. Very influential, totally remove those situations whenever you hesitate jumping down from higher place!

Also, even there are those useless options, I still think it’s better than having none of the options, and Bronze is its cutline. I mean, Cool can be also useless, but all of the options are not as bad as Pineapple juggler level, right? Also you don’t have to afford Bronze unless there is fixed option that you want, I mean it is very easy to make Bronze with only given cases when you play the game.

Anyway, Iron skin is awesome too by the way.

I only intend to use Cobalts for Engineers and Assault Mercs, and even then, I want Blue for Engineers and Chrome for Assaults.

Because I feel like the cosmetic look of them is way cooler to me than just simply the status.

Actually I may do Cobalt Blue for Recon instead, and get Gold Red cards for Engineers.

Everytime i do gold I get crown but I want goddamn BAMBOOs I also wanted swiss red so bad and when i got it on Thunder with mk46 i was kinda dissaponted on how it looks on this weapon. So if i could i’d changes all my gold loadouts to BAMBOOs. :wink:
One more thing, cobalt fragment looks nice on some weapons but it still not worth of sacrifying 6 golds

And here I have bamboo golds for my Medics, and I just want crown golds.
