Is there a server with limited lives and 40 plus players. If so post it here I can’t seem to find one.

I don’t know if you’re going to have much luck finding one. 40+ is quite a high number, especially since the maps ideally hold about 20…

I’ve only seen one server over 40, Beginners Park, has 60 and it’s usually pretty close to full. I’ve never been there since playing with 50 people sounds like a fucking nightmare. But if you want…

you cant play most of this maps more then a 10 vs 10 in my opinion…Its to crazzy no tactics and a whole lot of team killing :drink:

I would beleive a 40-50 player game with limited lives would work well. Just limit the amount of panzers and mortars.Everyone would be more carefull if they had limited lives and more strategy would evolve eventually. At first there will be total chaos, but as people get use to the game, better players and strategies would evolve.The 40 plus games now, with unlimited lives, really don’t have any strategy nor will it ever.Wins are won by chance with unlimited lives.

I wouldn’t like to be the first one to die on a 40+ LL, could be 10 mins or more before you get to fight again

If you run out of lives that fast I guess your just not fit for the competition. :smiley: . If each side split up into gruops say medic feildop covert and soldier( or what ever combination they see fit).I’m not saying you have to get into groups(this is just a suggestion). I beleive the game can be very exciting and enjoyable. Just because someone is eliminated early and was not able to stay in a game would not make the game unpleasant for the other players. One server should have the balls to implement this :smiley: or give it a try.

Suggestion
Say if you see someone on your team who is not cooperating just vote for him or her to be booted and allow other players to join.

I was not refering to you really.Your quote said you would be waiting for 10 minutes so I took it sarcastic joke (refering to others by using yourself as a example). Or did you set up the response in a way so this could end up in a argument or competition :smiley: . Stay happy don’t be so up tight :eek2: I was refering to any player who just comes in and does not manage there lives well on a limited lives server. This is expected on the first couple of tries but as one get use to the game play i beleive everyone( or should I say most) will start managing lives better.

As it is now a medic is pretty much useless on 40-50 player servers

Yes I should rent a server but siince I’m busy with work. I have not really had the time to look into running a server or how to operate one.
I’m just your casual player. If you can get a server to do this I would play against you :smiley: 20 players on your team and I’ll try and gather 20 players. :clap: :drink:

see you have a good point…But remember say you do join a 40 player server theres going to be at least 15 n00bs that come on and just teamkill ppl gib there t8s shoot a rifle garnade in a crowd of ppl take out a few t8s…From a personal experience i played on a 50 player server on oasis and there was no team work whats so ever,all the field ops were worried about frags instead of giving u ammo,u have engineers defusing your mines so they can put theres its just caos and its not fun :bump:

ND80 runs a bunch of servers, many of which are limited lives

I play on ND80 New Maps at lot and that is a 28-slot, 15-life server, campaign

Irish Guard is limited lives, 10 map campaign

After dling and watching the Modern Day Gamer 2 video made by 4Kings from QCon2k3… the start of the video shows the 4K’s first RTCW on Ice and the teamwork they used showed how well groups of players in a set team (or Fireteam/TS Channel :x in ET’s/Moder Day Clans case) can pull something off easily and efficiently. But tbh 40 Players, even on Max Lives, wont be fun :> - It’ll be endless spam, tks, whiners (Yes, I’d imagine at least 1 for ever 10 players) + not to mention callvote spam, complaints and rambo medics going off xp wh0ring. But, if you can provide a server which will attempt to handle this madness, im in.

I’d think/hope that from 15+ players a team at least 9/10 were clannies/not so beginners that groups could be done, and i’d imagine it would work very well/be good practice! SD server anyone? or, maybe you could poke Locki/change EQ server into a SD.ET.Gather server :] #etpickup.euro anyone?

As Ifurita mentioned, I run a lot of limited lives servers. Most of them are 26 players. I think anything much beyond that would defeat the purpose of using limited lives at all. In fact, Im considering lowering the player limit of some of them to encourage better play.
