It seems to me the thompson brings people down alot faster than the mp40 does all of a sudden. The thompson was always more powerful, but with the lower rate of fire they were almost the same.
I find myself wanting to pick up those thompsons now where before I liked to stick with my mp40.
I think that the rate of fire (and sounds!) for both the thompson and MP40 should go back to the Wolfy settings - much rather prefered them.
If you believe iffurtas weapon damage page, they are equal. They seem that way to me. In wolf the mp40 was quite a bit better if you were any good at headshoting.
The ET Thompson and MP40 are IDENTICAL.

The RtCW SMG’s used to be full-auto sniper guns that somehow managed to throw pistol ammunition across the entire map. Now they’re not.

It makes sense that the thompson and mp40 are now equal due to the fact that you can only have the mp40 as an axis or a thompson when the allies.
On classic wolf the mp40 caused less damage and had a faster fire rate, where as the thompson did more damage but had a slower fire rate. This didnt matter on classic wolf as either side could choose the weapon they preferred.
In REAL LIFE they are very different:
The Maschinenpistole MP-40 has a ~500 rounds per minute maximum fire rate and effective range of 100 meters.

The game chaps is RTCW: ET - why not bring back everything RTCW and then just add the big additions of ET into it.
